Default yeahhhhh...Mark!!!

Oh Thank You God for pain meds....we push ourselves because today we can. Perhaps there was a need for you to touch the lives of those who offered help to a stranger....how grand to look back at their kindness.

I am so thrilled you are engrossed in your profession (I am jealous)....no forgiveness necessary...more like celebration!! Maybe schedule in breaks to let your mind wander to the lake memories of last summer...just some minutes of stillness to take care of yourself.

You are much loved
HB

Default Mea Culpa

I can't believe it is nearing 6 months since last I posted here. Lordy! I have been bad......or overcommitted.

Anyway, life has been pulsing along well and I have worked hard bringing good things to fruition for my firm and family. It feels to good to be back working. It has been over three years now since I was able to rejoin the world of gainful employment. It feels so very good!

Of late, in part due to my close encounter with a soda pop machine at the local supermarket [I kid you not, it reached out with a monster of a lock device to stump would be thieves and just GRABBED my shoulder, spinning me a bit to the right while torquing my throacic spine] I have been hurting like HECK probably around T-5/T-6. I SO DON'T want to go back to the Doc, because at 36 surgeries, I have had way more doctoring than I ever wanted. Instead I have resorted to using a foam therapy tube for "making snow angels" on our family room floor. It helps. Then, I have been popping pain meds at night. ARGHHHHH. Maybe it will relax and I can avoid THE trip to the Doc.

The stim still works way good, I charge it up full about every 10 days to 14 days, and of late have had to really run up the signal to overcome pain spike.... yes, even after four years from surgery you can still experience pain spikes. This is why the SCS units have remotes.... YES? Do I hear a YES?

God has blessed me in so many ways, the ability through SCS to return to work in full bore effort, and the means to manage a good deal of my pain without meds.

Count me blessed here,
Good to see you all on the threads,
M56

Default So....

I have been walking more on the treadmill. I have to hold on, you know, since I no longer feel below my knees. That, and faithful use of a foam roll in my office chair have both been beneficial.

No meds today. Uh uh. Glad of it.

Default Pain more manageable

Nice it is when status quo returns. Been using the foam roll behind my spine in my office chair....and it does help! Did a couple of 11 hour and a couple of 12 hour days this week....not by being a workaholic, but responsive to client need. Survived all....yay!

Merry Christmas,
M56

The battery in this stim keeps cranking away after 4 1/2 years.

Glad the stim is still doing well and humming along.

How are you managing with the arm?

Praying

Default Hi Ger

Oh.....it is cranky. Nerve damage. If I overdo with it, whether at work or around the house, there is a pain price to pay. Heck, the family won't let me vacuum here at home because it is known the arm gives trouble.....

Yet, I can still work. That's a good thing!

Yup, M56

Hey Mark,

That sure says a lot about your loving caring family. I'll bet Cleo really pays extra special attention to what you can or cannot do; she is one very special lady who, i am sure, will be remembered "big time" on Valentine's Day.

Default Ouch

Funny, that in some of the quietest moments
My legs will JUMP, not usually at the same time
But more like an uncoordinated marionette
Whose string has been pulled
It is the cranky troubled injured nerves saying
HAH, I am here, and I still can yank your chain
It is weird in a business meeting or at dinner or watching a movie
I just JERK from the leg jumping
And....it hurts
Oh well
It is "one of those things" and I don't like it
Happens even with the stim turned up
Life is interesting......
Maybe someone did read a Chinese fortune over me
"May you live in interesting times"
Right
Huh

Mark, it sounds like you may be having some spasms. I know Rae really has issues with this too. If I understand correctly; seems to have to do with her stim.

Yes, you are so right; life is interesting, as well as unpredictable.
