Eva,
I do so agree. I am on a high dose and unfortunately it seems the people dependent on the narcotics for pain are not hospitalized;; but often the "addict" can be helped with some form of hospitalization.
Prayers with Ginnie as she is on her journey to withdrawal.

Heart Among the Withdrawn

among the withdrawn there are those who, like me, went through all of the withdrawal stuff, feeling poorly, sleeping irritably, taking meds which are prescribed to [of all things] help heroin addicts withdraw...... then once off, my body continued on a downward slide into deep dark depression which took weeks and intervention from which to emerge. No, I do not envy the patient who withdraws from prescribed opiates of whatever strength because I know well the path, and do not ever hope to travel it again.

Probably for this reason, and a bit prematurely, upon arrival home from fusion of my neck levels I quickly reduced and withdrew from the morphine with which I was sent home. I feel good again, mentally free, and ready to go...... that is, subject, however, to the restrictions my body places on me as it develops bone to fill in the gaps in my neck.

So, for Ginnie, and all else who withdraw, I pray in hope your path may be the easier for you,
in love,
and hugs,
Mark56

Mark,
As you might recall, a while back; I actually gave a lot of thought to trying to withdraw. At that time; I read your posts regarding your road with withdrawal , from start to finish.

The "hell" you went thru was really remarkable. After that...and the fact that the spine, pelvic and PN, edema, stasis to burning feet and ankles without much else to help me for those areas of pain; just didn't really give it much of a try. Even a few hours late with my 60mg's Oxycontin every 6 hours (240mg's a day)(that's not including the Percocet for breakthru) had the pain in the legs "out of sight"....never got any further.

I am so glad to hear you kept yourself down on the narcotics and are doing well. You have been thru so much.

Praying,

Gerry

Dear Ginnie

I'm sending your a Big Cyber hug to let you know I care. I hope your prayers are answered and that your journey is short and the load light. Christ had help as He carried His Cross, prayers are surrounding you as you journey through with drawl.

Heart So much about which to think

Dear Ger- Thank you for writing as you did regarding withdrawal. I do recognize when one has a solitary means to address the pain experienced without true and effective means to find relief in another management means such as SCS how could anyone let loose of the only pain management control they know.

This was and is your quandary so, I hope you are able to continue watched over by your pain management doc with this regimen indefinitely. Unless God by miraculous touch brings relief to you, there is no present alternative approach. May God Bless YOU continually with care over the pain you suffer.

Thank you for being so faithfully inspirational regarding your faith as you share openly with each of us!

Dear Eva- Thank you for sharing the reference to the article, right on point for Spine, but I sense the author is still slanted into the personal injury arena and its damages opportunity rather than the contract and fraud arenas..... seems even someone out there might attempt a Qui Tam suit on behalf of the FDA if there was a class they could represent such as Spine indicates...

That which has been discussed should never have occurred.

Just now I am praying as well that my sweet one is slumbering as she jets across the Atlantic to join up with her family tomorrow. This will be a much needed opportunity to dial down the stress for her especially after caring for me so long over the years.

I FEEL BLESSED!!

I sneaked an "I Love You" card into her luggage last night, so after she reaches journey's end, she may open it up and read a message of deep love and blessing from me to her.

Yup,
You have me pegged,
Blessed,
