Confused Spread to incision site, possible migration

Hey guys,

Still have programming issues. Been 9 times. Still have no programs that take away pain. Still a 50 mile drive. Still angering me.

I have developed rsd in my incision site according to my surgeon. Kinda wondered about that.

I am having xraystomorrow for possible lead migration, excessive scar tissue build up due to my inability to program. It's only been 11 weeks, but okay.

Anyone have any ideas about what the heck is going on?? Feedback would be much appreciated lol

Default Wow!!

You've been NINE times and still no pain relief??
What is the Rep telling you each time he/she attempts to set up the programming - before shipping you out the door for your 50-mile trip back home? I literally wouldn't let mine go until I had some GOOD programs to work with.

As for the problems with the incision - I wish I had some advice for you but I sure don't. I did just get an X-Ray myself this past Saturday due to minor concerns of migration but it revealed only a 1/2 mm movement and the doc said that's so minimal it could literally have happened before I was out of OR...plus there is plenty of lead-coverage for the entire area where it's needed. I'm only saying that to suggest that you do indeed move forward with that X-Ray as it will either alleviate your fears or confirm them. I'm praying it will alleviate them and there is no migration!

Keep us posted...

What a big ol' bummer, TK! I'd be angry, too. So sorry you're having these problems, especially with the programming! I hope and pray that you and the medical staff find a resolution SOON!

Big hugs,
Jan (a transplanted Texan)

Help Methinks.......

Blanket party should be held for your rep! What kind of unit do you have? I agree with Andy park in the office and refuse to leave until they get some programing that gives you pain relief! I know all about traveling to see docs, you see I live in the middle of nowhere and it be a far piece to the big city where my wonderful doc resides.

hmmm maybe we should sic our own lawyer the wonderful Mark on your rep, or you being from Texas and me from nowhere we could introduce the rep to just a small protion of our pain!

TK
I can't believe the Dr and rep are sending you home without relief. It's there duty and obligation to help you. I hate it when you don't get the follow up care you deserve.

Many many years ago Singer sewing machines sold Christmas records. My mother in law bought one every year. One year she bought the album and took it home to enjoy. She went to play it and saw it had a big scratch on it. So, back to the store she went to ask for a replacement. She told the salesman what happen and asked for a new one, he told her they didn't sell scratched records and refused to give her a new one. My mother in law sat down on the floor and refused to move until her record was replaced. After awhile they realized she meant business and had no plans to leave so, they gave her a new record.

I hope you don't need to go to this extreme action to get the follow up care you need. Good luck

The pain doctor I was seeing back in the 90s was notorious for running late, real late. I would call before starting out and be told he was running on time and have a three or four hour wait........standing room only with people waiting outside. I finally warned the office manager that the next time I had an appointment, I would call first and then bring a sleeping bag and pillow with me just in case I arrived to a major wait. She laughed. While I was soft spoken, I wasn't kidding. The next appt. rolled around, I arrived and the patients who were lucky enough to have chairs said they had been waiting for hours. I went to the car and got my sleeping bag and pillow. I got the next open room which caused a near riot but that was their problem.

Heart Ahhhh Spine!!!

We share a means, that we do.... you see TK, I also arrived one day and lay flat on the floor rather than take an uncomfortable chair.... next thing I knew, I was whisked into an exam room, provided care, and needs met. Pooh's Blanket Party idea sounds good.

Nine times..... that must be a record,
a scratched one,
you need a record without a scratch,
don't leave until the consarned thing works,
Yup,
