![]() ![]() I am excited. My body has gone downhill due to the fact that I can not stand upright and walk for any distance. I will always have balance and buckling issues due to nerve damage but that is what the rollator is for. The trial allowed me to stand upright and start moving again. I got much better sleep while I was buzzing. I WILL regain a good deal of body strength. It will take time but I am a tough old bird and know I won't be doing it alone. There are no words to describe how much I appreciate the info and support I have received. |

Hello, I am a nutty nurse from Nowhere Nebraska.... I worked 8 1/2 years with Home Health and Hospice. If you have Medicare and are "homebound" which you will be until you no longer have to BLAST or logroll. They could come in and help with dressing changes for a short time. That should help, try to contact them before your surgery so you can get the ball rolling before you need them

Hi Pooh!!! I have been on Home Health with a homebound waiver for 12 years and have a wonderful aid and casemanager. My state has all but shut down the homebound waiver program and not accepted new patients for almost 2 years. They are anxiously awaiting current clients to die. So far, they have agreed to spend 15 minutes to train a neighbor to do the surgical site care. That is not acceptable as most of my neighbors are in worse shape than I am. The coroner just picked up my next door neighbor a few hours ago. I am already strategizing with my case manager and pain doc. Pain Man is drafting a letter discribing what will happen if I do not receive proper at home care, per history. I won't bother with the laundry list of post op. problems they can count on happening. I have had tons of spinal surgery and know the drill. Deep sigh. Thanks for the concern and input. |
