Feeling pretty confident. I didn't check out the surgeon which I preach against. I figured that if Pain Man said he was "the one" after 13 years of solid guidance and this guy was his surgeon of choice, I would forgo interviewing surgeons...............who are not my favorite people. They rank right up there with psychiatrists. Yeh, I know there are some good ones. I just haven't met them yet. I worked for two and they were loonier than most of their patients.

Anyhow, this guy does nothing but spinal and brain implants. He has some gray hair and is on the neuro surgical faculty at U of L. I guess he has done a few. Have a good weekend.

Teeth Yea

That is good news Spiney, and if the brain implant is a good sell.... well, I could get in line just in case the brain he implants is better than the one I presently have!

Yup,

Default Okay.!?

I think I will just go for the scs and leave my foggy old brain alone. It kinda honks me off that I have the same sort of brain that a 25 year drug abuser has. No wonder there is a bias in some medical corners about the pain meds. I don't agree, of course. I don't even get a high off the stuff. I have to get an implant to get a buzz. Yuck Yuck!!!! Strange night. Stranger mood. Back to bed. Behave. Well, try.

Default Thanks, guys.

If we don't look for some sonshine and humor, it's all over. I will be 64 this month and have been in serious chronic pain for over half my life. There is no point in asking "why me". Why not me? Humor does distract and get those endorhpins pumping a bit without a co-pay.

I must plead guilty to going to the dark side of humor in recent years. Age has it's priviledge. I consider it my new mission to drive as many idiot doctors over the edge as possible. I will not tollerate lying, partial information or any form of deception. Poor Pain Man begged me to behave myself when I had my psych. eval. and when I go see the surgeon. I told him he better pick out the right ones or all bets were off. He did send me to a psychologist rather than a psychiatrist which was a wise move. I did jerk him around a bit but he had a sense of humor and got with the program pretty fast. I trust the surgeon will be fine. I am assured that he has good communication skills as well as surgical skills. He better

Smile gotta tell ya Spine

You have brought a whole new perspective to my approach to the Colorado road side stands which sell JERKY!!!

They have your beef jerky, your elk jerky, your venison jerky, your turkey jerky, your buffalo jerky [and I thought it was only native Americans could hunt for buffalo, but there are too many out there to be totally tribal], your trout jerky, your salmon jerky.......

Never heard none of Doc Jerky before. But I reckon there could be some to be had, maybe goes well with Lawyer Jerky, seasoned Politician Jerky, Insuror Fraud CEO paid too much Jerky, Herky Jerky....... Did I ever tell you the one about a notoriously huge insuror whence I had interesting intel on a claims force and management meeting where it was said "pay no claims!?!" That is why they earned a place in the Jerky hall of flame.... oh, scratch that, Jerky is dried, not flamed........ Oh well.

Jerk 'em around Spine, but be genteel enough to still merit serious consideration.... you know, an angry adjuster does not go to a chiropractor, they just deny claims [get it? adjuster/chirpractor? My family is going to kill me over this bad joke.....

Yup,

Default Eeeeeks

My "meet and greet" with the surgeon is next Thursday. BOTH of my daughters are going. Neither one has ever gone to one of my appts. in the last 20 years. I guess they figure this one warrants it as I am no longer young and rebound quickly from anything. I think they are attempting to ease their way into role reversal as my younger daughter chose to lecture me on how to behave around super specialists. Excuse me? She's lucky I couldn't get my hands around her scrawny neck. I will tollerate Pain Man ordering me to "behave myself" as I do torment him. Kids!!!!!

Smile Yup

Then they will say things like "you are NOT going to pick that up!" Nice, because they are going to retrieve it, whatever it is...... If you keep those hands at your side and off of necks, Spine, you might just find a bit of help is a silver lining to that cloud of surgery and aftercare.

Prayin all will be extra well, and your kids will be better than just curious, but become INVESTED in your better life.

Uh, huh [bet you thought I was going to write "yup"]

Default Bad conversation with daughter

We Skyped this evening and she was concerned about the timing of the upcoming implant. She wants it done after the holidays. She got pretty upset when I told her things would move fast after the appt. with the surgeon as everything has been done except the pre-op testing and I could have a date within two weeks after the appt. She said that was not acceptable because she and her husband have either a choir or band rehersal every night in Dec. for the Christmas program. I told her not to worry about it because my sainted cab driver would undoubtedly take me up there for the cost of the gas. He owns the company.

The problem is my SIL. The church comes before all else. He missed being with his mother when his father had life threatening cancer surgery at Christmas time last year. I was almost as concerned about his mother as his father as she is the extremely nervous type. She had a daughter with her but needed her son. Fortunately, the man survived the surgery and is doing well now.

Perhaps I am being unreasonable but I want this behind me. I want it done ASAP. The sooner it is done, the sooner I can begin to heal and start the restoration process. Back to bed.
