Hello all, my username is markjens (since there seems to be Mark here already) and I am a 55 year old disabled vet. I have contended with chronic pain through about 15 years and I have undergone the usual fusions, failed fusions, operating suite infection, etc. and the results are as you might expect. Back and legs, a bucket o' pain. In any case, I found myself in the fortunate position of being in the midst of a medical trial with the Nevro device. This was a win/win, since half receive the Boston Scientific device and the control group is implanted with the Nevro. I am in the latter group, and my surgery will be sometime in the next week or two. This is certainly a big thing in my life right now, and I am working at maintaining a level altitude and not allow myself to get caught in the updraft of unrealistic expectation. I facilitate a chronic pain group for the American Chronic Pain Association (theacpa.org) and I don't want to give the group false hope, either. We tend to be one another's cheerleaders and shore each other up when times are particularly tough, and I don't want to be that for them. In any case, I just wanted to say that if anyone is curious I'd be glad to inform you about the test as it goes on. That is, unless I have to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and then ... well, you know
