Default Trial SCS removed

Well today I visited my pain Dr and my trial SCS was removed. I had great success with the trial and my Dr expects to implant the permanent unit in the next 2 weeks. I met my "rep" from Boston Scientific in the hospital before the trial was implanted and she was very nice. She also was at the Dr's today for the removal and answered all the questions I had.

So back to not too much sleep and lots of pain for the next few weeks. So I have to be patient and wait for an implant date.

Bye, Kim

I am really looking forward to getting the permanent SCS. But right now I am more happy about being able to take a shower this morning LOL .

My doctor gave me the electrode wire to take home and show my husband. I thought he was going to faint when he saw it, he kept saying this was in you ????. He does not have a "strong" stomach.

Again, thanks for everyone's good wishes since this all started a couple of months ago. Without your suggestions I would have no idea of what to expect and what kind of questions to ask in floow up appointments.

Bye, Kim

Heart Being Here

For you Wibley is what it is all about! We come alongside one another. If there are any questions which come to mind as you approach the next step do please cast them here for us to chime in!

Souvenirs.... ah yes, souvenirs.... such as screws and rod which were removed from part of my spine at one point. I asked for the souvenirs... and GOT them. Wicked looking screws. All is titanium. Pretty neat looking apparatus with articulating heads so they could tighten it all down just right in position.... yeah, I imagine that wire you have is quite the souvenir!

Blessings on you, and praying for you

Heart

Glad your trial went well, Kim!

We all know and understand how it is during this interim as you wait and the pain comes back full force. Hopefully you've been provided with good pain meds to get you by.

Hopefully the scheduling goes smoothly and you'll be in there getting the perm before too long!

Wibley,

I would probably be like your husband.

I'm glad I didn't get to take home the wires that were removed from my trial. Also, have rods and screws Mark spoke of. Should they be removed, I would not want them as a souvenier either.

Praying all goes well with the permanent implant.

I'm so glad everything went so well! The waiting in between is always the hardest part, because you had something that worked, and then it had to be taken away from you. I hope you get the date scheduled quickly!
