Default The end of the line for me.

I saw my surgeon today and he said there was nothing, absolutely nothing, more he could do.

My back is so scarred that it's absolutly impossible to get anything safely near there.

The new ganglion operation has not been proved safe and he is not willing to take a chance.

So ... t's on with the meds .. which we all know I will get used to and have to increase over time.

That's it really.

Good Luck to anyone else going in for a SCS .... it's worth it believe me, because it DID work for me ... it's just unfortunate the doctor I saw at one point didn't think it was infected even though I kept telling him it was sore and even took a photo of the infected site.

I will always wonder, had he had me admitted and on pic line anti biotics, would the infection have spread to the metalwork or would all have been ok? Corny quote coming up - these things are send to try us.

All i all, I was in with the surgeon for about 5 minutes ... he asked if I had any qestions .. what could I say? I shook my head and walked out.

needed.

i relive the same treatment from mine
begged him to poke me again
the hematoma was so big day 3 after
surgery
he drained me before
releasing me from hospital
i believe i should have stayed
with antibiotics right in my
blanken vein
i understand that a doctor
not listening
asked him please poke and
drain one more time
ignored me

happy holidays

Saffy,

I had a failed trial SCS and am not a good candidate for any future trials; but without the meds, I would really have a difficult time getting thru each day.
I am on the same dose of Oxycontin, Percocet, Vallium, etc for the past few years. Of course there was a time when it was necessary to increase, but eventually reached the correct dose to control the pain. I thank God for the meds, they really do help. Yes, still 24/7 pain; but tollerable.

Praying,

Gerry

Default majical Eva

so beautifully said....made me cry...such a great way to look at the pain..thanks Eva

my meds did not need to increase until AFTER the SCS...the surgery pain put me past my threash hold and I believe that chemically something changed in my brain/body tolerance.

I am so grateful for my meds....they even make it into my gratitude journal...now that journal has helped with my pain....I go to it with my first cup of coffee while I wait for that morning oxy to wash over me.

Like Eva...I am one of those chosen for God's testament of His work in my life.

I pray for miracles...AND I expect them to happen...praying for a miracle for you Saffy...believe it...it will happen....watch close because they like to camaflage themselves.

still typing on this wild keyboard

Well .. the letter came through the post today.

Dear Ms. Fry
I am writing to simply let you know that we had a discussion at SCS Team Meeting to consider whether there is anything further we should be offering you for pain management. Unfortunately we have concluded that there is no further treatment that we can offer you and we do not think that any of the very new treatments that have been made available recently would be of benefit.

I am sorry we can be of no further help.
