Hi everyone, sorry I've been pretty MIA lately, but I've just been very busy with grad school. Things are going pretty well with my new SCS, I just reached 8 weeks last week and I'm so glad that I'm able to bend again
![]() Anyway, while I was sitting in class last night, my back was really bothering me where my battery was. When I got home I realized why: a corner part of the generator is really protruding out. It must have shifted a little. For anyone who has had this problem before, were you able to get it to shift back on your own? I'm wondering if wearing my abdominal binder again tightly or even wrapping an ace bandage tightly around it might help. I've had my units shift around a little bit before and be ok so I wouldn't mind if it wasn't hurting. I'm really hoping I can figure out some way to adjust it to where it's not sticking out so much. |

Hi yellow! Good to hear from you. Glad you are doing pretty good, but sorry about the additional pain. Funny thing is, I get pain in my lower back between the cervical battery and where the incision is for the thoracic lead. The rep and dr are baffled by it. I was sure it was coming from the cervical battery, but it hurts when either unit it on. It is frustrating!
When I had my thoracic revision surgery, they moved that battery from my backside to the front/side, near my rib cage. That battery has repositioned itself and the corner protrudes out. I am having pain around that area now and am not sure what is going on. I cannot adjust the position, it is pretty much stuck there. Would be curious to hear if anyone else has this issue. Wishing you the best! Nanc ![]() |

My battery had to be replaced due to overheating and not deep enough. I also had my electrodes moved in my revision. It is fine now.

My one cervical battery sticks out and turns sideways(I guess) because it moves out even further when I sit down. I've experienced some serious complications since my cervical implant with nothing to do with the surgery. I had a seizure, have terrible weakness in all four extremities and am in a wc. I use crutches in the house since I can't get the chair in tight spaces. I have an appointment at UT southwestern Tuesday for more tests. They think it's msor mysenthia (?) gravies. I think it's RSD spread. The scs seem to work a little but I had to be placed on an extended release pain med, higher dose topomax, and fast acting pain med.
But, to answer your question, my battery sticks out and moves! Drives me nuts lol.i thought mine was because my weight. I have had to be reprogrammed. My rep says everytime the battery shifts it breaks the scar tissue. So, she told me to get control top unders, but the ace wrap sounds good, too. She did say something tighter might keep it in place for new scar tissue to form. Anyway, I hope this helps! TK |

Nanc, we need to figure out what is going on that is causing both of us this pain! It's so strange that everyone is baffled by it.
I have been trying an ace wrap and the abdominal binder over the past week, but not all the time. Nothing has moved yet, but maybe I should try leaving it on all the time. I certainly hope there will be no revision required down the road! Funny thing is, my cervical stim is having charging issues and that's the one that's not crooked. I'm leaving for vacation in Florida tomorrow, so I'm very excited to just have a good time and enjoy the sun before I start my summer classes! ![]() TK, so sorry to hear all that you're going through! ![]() |

![]() My dr is at a loss of what to do for me. I am allergic to everything so I can't take anything for the pain. He cannot give me any more injections because I had a couple of bad reactions to the steriods. So frustrating... Sorry you are now having issues charging your other stim...it is odd! I only have problems charging the one that is crooked, I have to really tighten the belt and kinda lay back in the recliner for it to charge. If you keep having problems, you need to let your rep know. I hope you have a great vacation yellow, you deserve it!! Wishing you the best! Nanc ![]() |
