I currently have a paddle located at T4 which has failed to provide any relief. The St. Jude's rep was recommending having it moved laterally to see if that would help. When I met with the surgeon today, he thought I would be better served having a regular lead placed next to the paddle if scar tissue allows and just disconnecting the paddle from the battery. Since this is for costochondritis instead of the usual back and leg problems, his other suggestion was actually having a lead placed along my sternum where the pain is located. Has anybody had any of these procedures done? Has it worked? I'm also wondering if I might be better off just having the whole SCS taken out and having the rib joint that's causing all the trouble removed.

Not sure if this helps but my electrodes are placed just under the skin (peripheral), for just pain relief in lower back. I did have a revision done, it helped alot.
