Default Status of Kymmie?

Anyone heard from Kymmie67? She was not doing very well with her new perm. SCS as of last post.
Kymmie, hope you're getting help and we're thinking of you!

Default I'm alive!

Thank you for asking about me....nice to know I was missed. I'm so sorry I've been MIA. Summer has been kicking my butt! All six of my kids are very busy, so consequently, so am I!

Some interesting (to me) things have been going on with my SCS. Or rather my CRPS. As you might remember, I was having nausea whenever I had the stim on for any length of time. So, I ended up just keeping the darn thing off. Is this what they call remission? Or do I have to be completely pain free to claim that?

It's very strange....the burning pain is gone except for one spot on the inside of my right knee and partway up my thigh. And that's not reall burning, necessarily, but a kind of numbness pain...if that makes any sense at all. And that's where all this originated from.

I've turned the stim on once in a while, and found it was actually pretty effective for a really bad sunburn pain/itching! Weird! My right knee still hurts a ton most days, but that's mechanical, not nerve related, so I think I'm just going to have to learn to deal with that. So, needless to say, I'm still on the Percocet for that, but not much...only four 7.5/325 per day...if that. I no longer take the gabapentin or anything like that. I still take the imipramine, but I've found that I'm much easier to get along with when I take that. So, the antidepressant part of that is working for me. I was originally taking it for the pain.

My one major complaint at this point in time is the battery site. I absolutely HATE it! It hurts! Not the surgical hurt, but foreign body in my body hurt. I'm not sure that will go away!
I will be 12 weeks post op on Tuesday, so it's not looking very promising. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I can feel every edge without even pressing. I only have to run my fingers lightly over the area and I can feel it inside and out! Not fun.

So, there's how I am doing, in a nutshell.

Me too - very happy to hear from you. I can relate to the "wierd" symptoms that can come and go, I think we all can despite this disease being different for everyone.
Please keep us posted when you can.

Thumbs up Glad to see you Kymmie

Battery can be "tender" even as far as three years post op, as I am. Bad pain from the location of the gizmo faded in the many weeks after op until it did not really manifest a noticeable trouble for me. I hope and pray this will be the way for you as well.

Less meds? Wondrous! Not a need to use the SCS so much? Miraculous!

Enjoy the rest of your Summer with the kiddos!

Well, I'm now coming up on my one-year anniversary for the perm SCS and have to say that even though the battery/PGen (Pulse Generator) in my unit is 30% smaller than older models I still cannot lean against something with that part of my hip (forget it if I actually smack it somehow!). I've concluded that it has healed as much as it's going to and will always be an area that can't be pressed w/o sending me to the ceiling, sharply inhaling! **O U C H**
