So to make this shorter. Request your medical records from the clinic and your pharmacy. Then comb through them, looking for dates of requested refills, any notation by the "phone nurse" and dates the prescription were sent to your pharmacy. Then once you correlate that info make copies of that information. THEN FILE A GRIEVENCE AGAINST THIS OLD HEIFFER !! The complaint should be sent to the office manager and the doctor. Label the envelope to the doc as "PRIVATE" Good Luck and keep us updated:D |
Thank you for the info Pooh_ac definitely will do that. Something should be done with this women a.k.a

sorry to hear of your experiences i have been there i also started a place to go and vent if i may suggest make copies of all your scripts before you fill them there might be a screw-up some freaky reason whatever you'll have proof someone who cares |
Hi Eva,
Speaking of having scripts filled........ the new thing in my community ......... no longer do docs hand you a written script to be filled. If you want/need a script, they will ONLY send it electronically directly to your pharmacy. They also check your pharmacy record everytime they submit a script. The patient no longer can leave the doc's office and decide whether to fill a script or not. Unless you decline it before you leave the doctor's office, it will be filled. Of course, you have the option, NOT to pick it up. Docs no longer have "prescription pads" in my area. Oh, another new thing here is even though a script is "valid" for a year, docs will only authorize refills for about 3 months. They can be refilled beyond that time frame but the pharmacy MUST contact the physician's office for authorization. It has become very strict getting ANY type of script filled. This even applies to a script for blood sugar test strips, anything by prescription. Anti-hypertensives, cholesterol meds, anything. I asked the pharmacist if this was because of the doc, a pharmacy policy, an insurance stipulation, a state regulation, or because of ObamaCare and I was told they did not know why but it was across the board with all scripts and docs. I have 4 different docs prescribing my meds for my various conditions and from various specialties so I know it is NOT doc specific. Maybe it is a new state regulation. I would be curious to hear from others on Neuro if they have experienced anything similar in different areas of the US. |
Changes are happening

Here when I go to my pain specialist some of my Meds are e-faxed to the pharmacy then I MUST SEE HIM ONCE A MONTH AND GET A SCRIPT FOR MY HARD CORE MEDS I AM HANDED the written script then take it to my pharmacist to fill Now changes are happening And I suspect that there might be a crack down on those who take hard core drugs and are abusing it also it has become a new way of getting a high I myself am on opiates and on Meds from my physiotherapist To answer your question yes there have been changes only thing it is backwards here the Meds e-faxed are the Meds that do not offer a high to the abusers the drug world out of control I pray you have your Meds needed for your body and mind May life be good to you I have a spiritual side a copeing method in my everyday life with constant guidance as some days are way to tough God bless and be well Someone who cares |
Caring...
I'm so sorry you are dealing with this, Mark. Someone in pain shouldn't have this much problem getting meds.....unless of course there is a Heifer working in the office  There seems to be one of these in many offices. I'll withhold the language that I'd 'really' like to use regarding these heartless types.
Pooh said it very well regarding how to go about the grievance with this lady.....go straight above her head. My concern for you is that there is a possibility that this nurse's input 'might' end up in your file somehow - regarding your relationship with her. Things she could possibly embellish or exaggerate, using words such as 'argumentive patient regarding pain meds...' etc. This is something that could possibly raise a red flag wherever your records will be sent. WE all know what you are experiencing and the frustration (and lack of pain relief IMHO), but maybe there is another 'COW' in this new place you will be going to and she might take the grievance and run with it. I certainly hope this won't happen and I doubt it will, but I have seen it happen, especially in a smaller community. At your next eval, try being ridiculously nice to her , all the while you are handling the grievance in the higher ups.... I know! I am probably spouting stupidity, but I do care :o I'm pushin for ya and I pray this will work out better than you'd even believe! Rae :grouphug: |
Dr. Office
I think Rrae is spot on. You need to report this person, so that anything she might say negative would not be used against you in your records. I have had a number of things on my records that I had a fit over. You don't want to experience that. I hope you get the help you need. ginnie:grouphug:

Update after my visit with the pain center
I had an appointment with the pain center the other day.I was so ready to confront the nurse that is always giving me a hard time on the phone . So I arrived about 15 minutes early and asked for her by name and was informed she no longer worked there and was told the doctor would speak with me in just a few minutes about the problem I had experienced with her.
So I waited for the doctor to come in and as he entered the room along came someone else with him. It was the office mgr. They both told me that after looking into my chart after I had called and spoke with the office mgr that they decided to look into other patients chart and one was my wife and noticed that she would hold request for refills for two or three days at a time . They figured this out by looking at when the drug stores would call and also request a refill after the patient would call them and see if their meds had been called in or not from the pain center. I was told she is being brought in front of the medical board an will possibly lose her RN certification and will not be able to work in the medical field as a nurse again once the pain center files there report . I was so happy to hear that and then I looked at the office mgr and told him and you at first tried to blow me off when I spoke to you what made you look into this further? He replied once I seen the request from you for your medical records I realized that you where not going to give up till something was done so I took your record and your wifes records and started to look into it all and that is when i found some things that didn't look right and looked at a couple of other records from other patients and found all the information we needed. After he finished telling me all this I looked at him and told him thank you but honestly it's a little to late because of all this I am changing doctors so today I hope you have learned a valuable lesson when a patient calls the office mgr and complains you will not just blow them off as a drug seeking phiend or label them as a someone over using prescribed meds. Then I looked at my pain doc and told him I needed my pain meds refilled for the last time from his office and that I would be on my way and got up and hobbled my way to the front desk and waited for my refill prescriptions. The doctor brought them up himself to the front desk and asked me if I would reconsider ? I told him noway in He**( double hockey stick) would I every darken the doorway of this facility again took my scripts and hobbled my way to the car. As I got into the car my wife looked at me and said you handled that much better than I thought you would. Had that been a couple of years ago I probably would have completely lost my mind in there. But thankfully I have changed for the better (I would like to think and my wife says I have also from when we first met :) ) I also wanted to thank Pooh & Rrae & Eva & Hopeless & Ginnie and everyone else that rang in on this post . Rrae I also am hoping that this doesn't happen at the new office I have changed to but I will be on the look out for this problem for the rest of my life now. But I can say it was such a relief when all this went down the feeling of being vindicated was such a huge pressure lifted off my shoulders. Again thank you all :grouphug: |
