Have been having new problems with my legs as of lately. Legs feel like I just finished working out all the time all the way up into my hips and the bottoms of my feet feel like they are burning after my legs start to spasm. The lower back below L4 & L5 is in constant pain. Pain meds seem to only dull it to a slow aching throb anymore this has just started up in the past 4 or 5 days. At times I have a feeling like someone is taking a hot poker and jabbing it into the sides of my calf on the outside of each leg. That happens after my legs go into muscle spasms. Anyone have similar symptoms? I've had muscle spasms for about 2 1/2 years mainly in my lower back and in my thighs. But these in my calfs and the hot poker feeling are new and very painful doesn't matter if I'm sleeping or active it seems to happen when it feels like it. they last anywhere from a couple of minutes up to a couple hours at times .

Mark,
Please do see your doctor about this, ASAP. It sounds like it has to do with your back issues, as L4-L5-S1 would refer pain to the leg areas you mention. You could also have paresthesia (burning is one type, itching, prickling, numbness etc are other kinds). http://www.spinal-foundation.org/Hea...arch/Pain-Maps However, when new symptoms come up, it is really important to have them evaluated. Also, I don't know about the spasming. The L4-S region only affects foot movement from what I know. There may be a simple explanation that also ties it in with the calf spasming. I just don't know. I hope your doctor can figure out what is going on with this! All the best to you! waves p.s. I read the story of your injuries in your SCS post... I'm so sorry all that happened to you. |
