Default Trying to move rocks that turned into boulders

Some trying times in the Wade household.

We finally found out I have seizures in absencia after a 4 day EEG video. I already take a seizure med for my burning RSD so we agreed to keep it up. I am 6 weeks seizure free.

I had a car wreck 9/19 that I thought had left me with temporary injuries. Since then, I have 3 numb fingers on my left hand. I also have a now rare functioning thoracic scs. In fact, it was decided I needed it completely pulled and re installed. In fact, my rep suggested we move it down to t10 due to scar tissue and RSD spread in my back. I'm almost to the point I just want to pull it out and forget it but it's a lifesaver. However, now my neurosurgeon is Mia. To switch neurosurgeons in the middle of all this would be horrific.

I also have to have a knee scope done 12/19. I tore some ligaments in my knee that have to be prepared. Right when therapy was going a bit better.

I also have to have my thumb repaired. It's awful. I can barely move it. Fun times.

Lastly, I now cash pay for pain mgmt. I've needed an authorization for over a week for my meds. Can't get it. I came cold turkey off my meds. Hasn't been pleasant. We are iced in. I've begged my dr. Office, but no dice yet. We shall see.

That's my update. It hasn't been great lately. RSD pain is awful and then all that too. I don't even know what to do. I've done my surgery precautions, but I'm just so tired of all.

Default dear TK

dear friend

oh how you feel as i do
no more doctors
i have no choice
but to see a new neurosurgeon
set up for Jan 13th or 14th
my pain specialist sending me
this will be 3rd neuro
1st did both surgeries
i'm going after him somehow
he will know why
only to have botched up
his own work
by allowing a hematoma
grow to a ridiculous
size and allow me to go home
he did not put in drain
properly therefore the growth
began immediately after i
was closed up

and i yet to go for my mammo
and PAP as i only had a hiccup
in the road as i refer to it
i found my breast cancer being
bed bound a good part of my
daily routine Sad
i do my best
as all my life i
never factored in
what if something should
happen to me my life changed
over night just like that
i so understand about being
sick and tired with the doctors
bit i so understand it
i can only hope things actually
get BETTER not worse
we are the ones suffering
what does one care from the
other

be as well as well you can be
wishing happy holidays

Hey TK. Just wanted to say sorry for all you are going through. Although I am happy to hear that you are 6 weeks seizure free!! Good luck on your upcoming surgery. Hopefully you will be able to get some relief after these procedures.

I understand what you mean about having the SCS removed or trying to keep it. Mine did help me greatly for the first year and a half, but with the problems now it is time for me to have them out. I am scheduled for surgery on Jan 9. Hope you can find your neurosurgeon!

Take care,
Nanc

Unhappy Oh TK!

I am so sorry for what you've been going thru. I knew that things weren't going too well for you, but I didn't realize it was this bad!
The fact that you had to cold turkey your meds is absolutely horrible! How could they let this happen.
You're right, you are moving boulders.

No one should have to go thru all this.
I pray that when things get better (sooner than not!), you'll be able to look back on this and realize what a strong person you really are.

Sending heartfelt prayers your way TK

Default breaking stones

TK...I could just scream...I am so sorry ---this after such high hopes last spring.
I think I would have found a way to a hospital to get meds....I do not know how you did cold turkey...not good for your body either.

Car accident!!!! Fingers and thumb.... oh how much more? Geeze Louise'!!

Knee surgery for ligament is not all that bad...first few days can be very painful then way better...My surgeon put s coating of pain killer over the area before he closed.....big help and ice the knee.
You MUST do your rehab and you will end up with a very strong knee...I also suggest always using both crutches.

Do keep me updated on the removal...my scs is at T7...bra strap and still painful...is the area for posture.
Do keep all of us posted...

Johanna
