Default pain near scs

hi all. i am new here and have a few questions involving the scs. i have had my implant a little over a year and half. it's the best thing that i ever did for my lower back pain. until recently. it has gotten harder and harder to recharge. if a move a little it start beeping. doc said it has gone deeper and may need to be repositioned.
but my main concern tonight is i am getting a lot of pain near the box as i call it. pressure and a burning feeling but mostly pressure, almost like someone punched me in that area. it started today around noon and it's getting worse as the goes by and was wondering if anybody else has experienced this.

Smile Hello!

Welcome!

Several here have had pain around the battery site, so I'm sure you'll get some good feedback. This pain that you've noticed starting today makes me wonder if you maybe slept in a way that might have pushed on or twisted it somehow. (I guess I'm assuming the battery pack is placed in your hip/buttock area). I've sat in my recliner in a way that pushed on that area without me realizing it until I get up and it felt irritated. Sitting on a very hard surface, bumping the area, etc.

Another thing that comes to mind. Putting on weight or losing weight can have an affect on that area to where it can be harder to charge or too sensitive to charge.

OR maybe your battery isn't functioning as well. Our good friend Jackie had to have her battery replaced not long after she got her implant.

Just some thoughts I'm throwing out there....

I hope you will get some answers real soon. Let us know if the pain continues to worsen. Hopefully not, but if so, make sure you get the proper attention from your doctor!

It's great to have you with us!

Caring,
Rae

Default red or warm???

Hi hplo,
yikes...that is scary....I do not have experience like that. I too am at a year and a half...my battery did reposition a bit and to recharge I have to lay on it the charger so I do it while I sleep.

Is the site warm or hot ...red??...does it feel like infection...do you have a fever.????
If it keeps increasing ...there is always the emergency room...please keep us updated and do call your rep and doctor.

Johanna

You Need to call your Dr here I think. It does sound like the battery pack may have moved. My Dr did say the burning I feel can be the 'current' running through it especially when recharging. But I would urge you to get some advice from your Dr. Hope it all sorts itself out real soon

Heart Uh Huh

HPLO see your Doc.

Jackiey has wise observations as one who experienced it.

Mine, it does warm during charging, but not uncomfortably so.

Prayin,
