Never a dull moment! I took the patch off yesterday - 2 days early and won't be trying it again. The patch was on my right arm for 3 days only, the mark it left behind is still a deep red and itching and looks like it will scar. The patch was relocated to my left arm and after 2 days of tolerating an increase in itch I removed it as the itch escalated and I began to feel itchy all over and woozy.

Default Ugh

Oh Phil, my heart beats fast for you as I think on what you may be in for. I hope and pray you are one of the few who suffers little. Make sure you do it in increments and with Dr support. What level are you on, 5,10,15 or 20?

I am having panic attacks big time, feeling very anxious, stupid I know, so hope this is my last procedure in hospital for some time to come. The way my heart is carrying on you would think this is my first time!

Default Checked in

Well I've arrived, lovey room to myself with river glimpses. Still feeling excessively nervous, have taken a Xanax but no lessening to the panic attaches which are coming think and fast. Just taken another with permission as no chance for a premed... I just should not be this nervous, it is not like I haven had spinal ops before

Poor hubby sitting here looking so very grey, eyes shut and hand in his forehead, I think this is sinking him this time round. He has embarked on another period of sobriety and it's been so hard this time, I'm worried with me being In hospital for a few days he will relapse but there is nought I can do about it and it's just up to him to have the willpower. Hard when he feels so ill, down and blue, but determined to tackle is in his own. Men and then jolly pride.

Say a few prayers or good thoughts for us my lovely friends and speak to you when I'm back in the land of nod xxx

Default Prayers!

Lifting you - and your hubby - up in my prayers today. You are resting in His hands today, with angels surrounding you and keeping you safe.

Look forward to hearing from you post-surgery!

Both you and your husband are in my prayers. May calm and peace fill both of you.

Default It's done

I'm in the worst pain possible, none of my previous operations have hurt this much. It is agonising and the night nurse so very UN sympathetic. She won't give me my normal drugs at all and has taken my pill box off me. At this pain scale of 10 I should be having my prescribed dose of 80 plus 30, she has given me 5. Ive been crying and vomiting, and all she does is huff. It's 3.30 am I was supposed to go home tomorrow but have to stay an extra day. It feels like they cut bone, didn't feel like this last time and the fusion hurt even less. I am beside myself with pain oh and they have taken all my tablets off of me and she is threatening to throw them out. I could just cry again

Default Still hurting

Pain has not subsided at all. Nevro rep, the new one breezed in and out, no clue what setting she put it on but it's not helping. Had an injection about 9pm and 10mg oxy just now with Panadol (2.30am) hope to drop off soon, still can't believe this pain. He did move the original lead so maybe it was scarred in and moving it ripped surrounding tissue? Hope to go home in the morning, may as well be in pain in my own home...

You are dealing with withdrawal because you need your usual meds plus med for the procedure. I have had my last three surgeries with my surgeons turning over my pain medication management to my Pain Doctor. I made sure the hospital I go to is the same one my PM doctor is on staff. So even for the cancer surgery, he was in charge of seeing I got my usual meds, as well as the medication for the surgery. I feel so badly for you.:hug

Is your Pain Doctor on staff at this hospital?? You need to call him asap!!!

Gerry
