Default Nevro Senza UK

Hello chaps and chapesses,

Well I am due to have my "permanant" Nevro Senza unit implanted tomorrow, it was scheduled for late November but had to be cancelled due to me having a cough and cold...or "Flu" as us men like to call it So fingers crossed in will go ahead tomorrow morning (UK).

The trial carried out in August 2013 was very successful in shutting down some of the nerve pain to my legs and feet, so I am rather hoping that the implanted unit will have a similar effect.

After reading the posts/experiences of other here I am beginning to think that I may not be attending my local pub for a pint tomorrow evening

Oh well such is life, Wingy

Thumbs up Howdy Wingy

Oh, how I hope your handle is due to being a pilot.......

I have flown "right seat" in most aircraft I could manage to wangle such a ride. Fond memories, those.

I kinda doubt you will be at the pub to bend an elbow on your first night after implant. If you had the full explanation from Doc about your procedure, you will know the thing on your mind post surgery will be, as it was for me...... "get to the head to take care of business" [and I did, whew], then walking, lots of walking to reinvigorate your workings. I pray all will be well... then soon, you will be visiting the pub and fascinating your buddies with "and you should see the size of that stainless steel probe they pushed along beneath my skin to trace, trail, and connect my new bionic workings!"

Give yourself time to heal well,
May all work out for the best,
You have my prayers,
Mark56 [Mine may not be a pint, but I do like Pepsi]

Default welcome

Hi Wingy,
You must be anxious although finding this message board will be a great help for you.
Do follow BLaST....that is the best advice I can give you...and if you have loved ones to care for you....be gracious and let them.Stay ahead of the pain>>>>meaning take your meds ahead of the pain.

pain will do strange things to your brain

let us know when you get to the other side of surgery...we are all so curious of the Nevro results.

all our best

Johanna

All implanted, switch on and back home now... smarts a bit!

Good pain relief, almost euphoric after so long with intense nerve pain

Smile Hi Wingy!

Welcome to the group!

I'm so glad that you're getting the relief you've been looking for. Once your surgical pain is gone, you'll be able to actually enjoy your life again.....

When you eventually DO end up at the pub with your buddies, be prepared for a bit of 'awkwardness', as your friends probably don't have a clue what your unit actually is.......when I hooked up with my friends for the first time after my implant, I noticed some awkwardness in the air, cuz they didn't know how to approach me with my new-fangled buzzing body part . One of them finally spoke up and said...."Soooooo, what happens if your battery runs out? Are we supposed to plug you IN to something?"

Ha! So anyway, mind the post-op rules faithfully so that you don't end up with a migrated lead.

It's great to have you!
Please stick around and let us know how you are getting along....

Hi all,

Well I am now three days post Senza implant and halfway through my first full charge up... ouch the staples are getting hot, be glad when they are out

Still a bit sore at incision sites, but it's only painful if I sit or lay in in the wrong position.

Getting mixed/confusing pain relief results from the unit at the moment, but I expect that is because I am not exactly moving or holding myself in a normal manner. Just working my way through the programs so I expect a pattern will emerge in time hopefully.

I have managed to walk about half way to the pub and back, so I reckon I am on target to do the full distance in a couple of days time

Regards from a Guinness deficient Wingy

Hi All,

Had all the staples taken out today, all pretty painless and easy so that was good, all seems to have healed up nicely but I will keep an eye on things.

So a few weeks of taking things easy now before I have to return for some fine tuning, think physio is due to start in around six weeks time.

I finally made it to that Pub... Hic!
