What a time it has been. I lost my paper with this site name/login info for the life of me i just couldn't find it. First implant surgery was cancelled due to surgeon hurting his ankle and he needed surgery. I fell into a depression. My hubby had a horrible reaction to a medication. They thought he was having another heart-attack. It was a long winter here in Central PA, as it was in many places!

So, I was rescheduled and done on March 27. I felt very confident going in. I had researched and prepared. Was implanted on Friday, discharged Saturday; with 4 programs setup. I was allowed to use mine right away. By Sunday, I wanted to know who hit me with a sledge hammer

By Monday, I couldn't move or breathe correctly from the spasms. Doc changed meds from Valium to Sonoma. That was a great help.

I had my 2 week check. I'm on restrictions until July. I prepared myself for 3months of restrictions so that was no surprise.

Two of the 4 stim settings were stimulating up into my rib cage on left side. The other 2 weren't too bad, but that only lasted a few days before I lost the good ones.

Honestly though, my pain meds were increased. One was doubled in dosage. The upper incision hurts so bad I think it overrides what pain I do have in my back/legs.

Thursday, I had the stim reprogrammed. Did 4 new ones. They worked well until Friday evening. Two are once again stimulating in my left rib cage. The other two programs irritate me. They do one thing while sitting down and another when I stand up.

I don't want to get disgusted over this. I understand things are going to change as things heal. What is the point of going back n forth for programming when so far 2 are working less than 48 hours and the other 2 work here/work there.

The Rep for Boston Scientific has me returning in July; obviously, I can return as needed.

I've never had an incision hurt like this. They say its healing well, so no infection. The smallest thing I do increases the pain, sometimes spasms are present.

Maybe I missed information regarding the incisions. The Rep was/is all upbeat about how well this will work for me. I am excited for that moment. Perhaps I'm being over anxious to get a move on with my life.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm glad to be back. I was smart this time and bookmarked the site!

How awful!

Hurt? Yeah, it did, but then all of my surgeries hurt...

It took some getting used to the stim routing up my spine. Generator in hip. Thoracic dive into the dura space for the paddle leads. That able strung between. The cable routing was the greatest irritant. After seeing doc, I understood why..... It is inserted via a stainless steel probe which looks like a long spike, and pulled beneath the skin from one incision to the other dragging the wire into place. A goodly bit of irritated tissue says "why did you do that?!?" afterward.

It was weeks before it calmed... But it did calm.

My stim was not activated until two weeks after implant. This allowed surgical site calming, and by then I was fully ready to have it turned on.

I pray your stim situation will resolve soon!
