Default Pumpster saying hello

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to this neck of the net and was hoping I might be able to help some people with the daily struggle of chronic pain by sharing my experiances. I won't bore you with the number of surgeries that I've had and where. I just dont think it matters besides I stopped counting after ten and chronic pain is chronic pain. I do have a pain pump and it has been wonderfull for me. I hope that anyone with any questions please don't hesitate to ask me. It's a wonderfull day and age we live in and I hope you can keep your pain levels down to a low roar.

Laugh Hello MudRat!

Welcome!
How wonderful of you to come and share your experience! There have been several folks coming here looking for info on pain pumps. I myself would like to know more about them.
I've had an SCS for 3 yrs and am doing good with it.

How long have you had your pump? What type of pain do the pumps work with best? Is it from your surgical pain or more like a condition? For instance, I battle CRPS in lower limbs and back.

It's great to have you here with the crew, MudRat!
It'll be good getting to know you

Rae

Thumbs up

Ive had the pump in for a year now. I also suffer from CRPS with severe nerve pain in my limbs, and general pain in the lower lower back due to failed fusions. I had the SCS trial done and couldnt get any coverage from it in the left foot. The next and final step as told to me by several Dr's was the Pain Pump. I did the single injection trial and I was sold 5 min after they injected the meds in my spinal fluid. I then followed it up with a permanent implant. Now this is the single best treatment that I've had, with better results than all the other procedures combined. It's truly a great thing to have ALL the nerve pain and general pain GONE from my life. Now although it's a pain to have to get this thing refilled every two months, I still have alot more freedom to ride my ATV's and do other things that the SCS wouldn't allow due to the leads moving on me. In short I think the pump is awesome compared to the SCS. The two don't even compare when it comes to pain control.

Sounds like a good reason to go have the trial done.. my Dr. did the single dose trial and five min after the dose was given to me life suddenly took a turn for the better. In my opinion if your Dr has suggested this for you it could be your ticket to a better life. It was for me. Plus what do you have to loose? You get a chance to become pill free and not live life in a haze and in pain. GO FOR IT!!!!!

Thumbs up Howdy Again Mudrat

Life IS. So with that indomitable spirit of so many on here and just exemplified by Eva, we move on! Your spirit is good and most especially with the Wanting to Share your experience with inquirers on here. So, :winner_first_ h4h:

These are your awards Mudrat, and I just gotta ask, is your handle in anyway related to four wheeling? Because I have enjoyed MANY a four wheel adventure with my family in the high Rockies.... some of which they found fearsome, and I apologized to them. We were never in danger, but it was daunting to them to see a station wagon down on the floor of a valley thousands of feet below us because some idiot Dad had thought "I can do that" in a two wheel drive station wagon loaded with family. The wagon was squashed plumb flat. The story I remember from my childhood.

Go for it ALL, encourage others and any who PM you and such.... goodness, I have made voice contact with a follower in North Carolina, and, depending on how she feels, we may very well meet she and her husband face to face while Cleo and I are here!! That would be Way Cool.

Looking forward to the next Mudrat post I am,
Blessed,
Mark56

Thumbs up Yes Mudrat!

You coming here and sharing is VERY valuable to us! I hope you stick around and help inform those who come here inquiring about the pump.
The thing I've noticed as time goes by is that alot of folks come thru here for support as they are going thru their trials and/or permanents....then, if all is well and good they seem to 'disappear' and go on living their lives - because, who needs a pain forum if their pain issues are under control?
If it weren't for the faithful few who continually come here to support others, this forum wouldn't have much substance.

Just sending a 'shout-out' to all of you who have made a place here.
....... I love you, mannn.....
