Default Still Waiting

I am a service dog candidate. I had an interview two weeks ago for a dog, but she was given to another candidate. So, I'm back to waiting again. This takes so much patience, but I have to trust that the people making the decision will match me up with the right dog. There is no other choice, it is out of my hands. Is anyone else waiting for a dog?

I'm not but I saw your post. And I wanted to say good luck in being the next person to get a loving and sweet companion.

I'm excited for you and hope it happens soon. I don't know a thing about service pets. It sounds like they set up an appointment with people when one is ready to go to a home?

I hope the next one fits you to a T!

Question

Did you ever receive a service dog? I was high on the list for one organization, because I had an old service dog. After 4 YEARS of waiting, I once again got my own puppy to train instead. TC

Default good luck to you

I wanted to say good to good luck to you and your new service dog I had to wait almost a year for mine. I applied in 1999 at the beginning of the year and did not recive my guide dog until August of 99 well we officialy becaame a team september 11 of 99. And I am really sad right now because i got the news a few weeks ago that i will probably have to retire Ripple next year sometime and get a new guide because she is nine years old. She sis the love of my life i did not realize at the time that i got her how much i would become attached to her.

Laura and guide Ripple
if i did this right there should be a picture of my guide dog attached I could not figuire out how to insert a picture

Yes, I did get a service dog and he is wonderful. His name is Monty, and he is a 3-year-old black Lab. He has helped me so much, it's unbelievable. So many, many times I have lost my balance, and he is right there by my side to catch me and keep me from falling. He is a real sweetheart.
