Just wanted to mention--nothing was said about your age--but "older women" often experience vaginal dryness--which can mean sensitive tissue and hence possible bleeding....

Also, even after all these years, I don't want just anybody looking up my parts, so I am picky about my gynecologists. Ha! I guess almost like I'm picky about who I want to have sex with. I have chosen to now go to women doctors (not that I'm gay)--and I find them to know more what they're doing and to not be so awkward and clumsy about even putting the speculum in! Just a thought for the future....

Glad to hear you did chose to see a doctor. Better to be safe.....
