So I am really excited about getting this over with so I can get one of those machines that will help me sleep better. I woke up last night a few times again and it's so frustrating! I can't fall back to sleep easily and so it's really frustrating me. I wake up tired the next morning and I don't feel rested at all. Then after I take my meds I don't feel so bad, but man I am tired of feeling this way!

My mother just had a sleep study done and they found her oxygen saturation dropped to 78% and she actually stopped breathing for 52 seconds! So she is getting one of the cpap machines today and hoping that this will help hr to feel better. I think it will help her a lot because they woke her up and let her try one of these machines during the study because of how low her oxygen went, she said it was the best sleep she's had in years!

Do any of you have a cpap machine and use it nightly with good results? She said it wasn't loud and the mask made her feel a little claustraphobic, but she did get over it and did fall asleep. I hope it will help her with a lot of her problems, like how she's been so stressed out and tired all the time, she could sleep 12-15 hours on the weekend and still wake up tired. I have been really worried about her and the fact she did the study encouraged me to get mine over with.

How many of you had sleep studies done and found you had apnea? I know I have it because my hubby video taped me and I stopped breathing for a good while, I doubt my oxygen levels will dip into the seventies though because I quit smoking over a year and a half ago so I think my oxygen levels will be low but not as low as Mom's were because she's still smoking...I am really excited that I am going to get this done finally, I didn't think my insurance would cover it but it does so I am going to get this taken care of soon, two weeks from now I will be getting it out of the way and that feels great!

YES WAY TO GO ! Good for you that you are taking care of this. insurance dose pay for the study and the machine.
For years i had to nudge my hub when he stopped breathing. he did not believe he snored but let me tell you he dose!!!! like a train loud loud snoring, then hed stop .. stop breathing and id have to poke him a bit till he inhaled again. now he has a cpap and i have to get used to that as the hose and or mask slips off and it sound like a wind storm or i look over half asleep and wonder where i am till my witts come and i realize i am in bedroom with hub.
DO NOT GIVE UP when you get the cpap and mask. it took my hub about 2 wks to get used to wearing it . at first it is uncomfortable but stick with it!
he cant sleep without it now and its been about a month so far. he is rested when he gets up and his moods are much much better because of the TRUE rest from sleeping uniterupted . so dont give up stick with it okay?!!!!
oh and give hub a extra desert for getting you to the sleep place and have one yourself for going too. happy for you! and too hope all goes well for you and yours.

I can hardly wait to get the machine, I know it's not going to be easy to get used to but I am going to stick with it because I know it is really going to help with sleeping. I am so glad your hubby went in and had it done too. I am really excited about it, they had an opening for two weeks away and I took it!

I told them that if they have any cancelations to let me know and I might be able to make it happen sooner. I am going to try to get through the next couple weeks dragging my tail around the best I can and just know that relief is coming.

oh you wont probly believe how MUCH it ( the cpap machine) helps with sleeping and getting a good nights rest!!! And i dont even use it I am just a by stander noticing the good affects because of it. Ya know what I meen.
Florida it is time for us to get ready for the hurricane season. we will have to keep in touch . . any kids ? I have 2 teens.

Thanks Tina! I can hardly wait I know it will take a while for the machine to get to me and I am excited about the idea of sleeping soundly. I have one son, ten year old with autism. We're getting ready to move in June to a place where there is no evacuation zone thank heavens. I am so worried about the weather, I bet we get it this season.

Last year it was pretty quiet...I don't like the unpredictability of our weather here, but I was born and raised here and love it here. I hope that this machine helps with a lot more then just sleeping, like helping with moods too would be great. I know when I am tired I am grouchier. LOL!

How many years has your hubby had the machine and been using it?

Wow they just called and had a cancellation so I jumped at the chance to get this done tomorrow night instead of the middle of the month. I am really glad to get it done and over with sooner as opposed to later, now if only my son and his daddy are okay for the time I am gone...I know it's going to be hard on my son because I have been with him every night of his life and he's probably going to stay up and give Daddy trouble, I hope not but who knows?

The good news is you only have to do one of these to get the machine as far as I know so it's all good.
