Default Cpap

I have been using cpap for 4 months and yet to find the right mask. I need a ff mask and have tried quattro, quattro fx, amara, flex fit and liberty. The quattro and flex fit left a mark on the bridge of my nose despite using the gecko pad, the others leaked regardless of how I adjusted them

Any suggestions?

My first couple of months drove me round the bend. I tightened straps, repositioned mask but eventually my nasal mask worked. Adjust it only a little at a time. I mean very little. I know its a pain but there is no other way unless u want to glue it on. U may just be moving so much during sleep, an issue in itself, have u had a full sleep study done? Try not to have too many pillows as the head falls forward and helps those leaks.
Good luck

Thanks for your response. I did have a full overnight sleep study. I find that some nights are not bad but others I leak like crazy. How frustrating

Smile Sleep Study

Yup, we did that on me at a local hospital. Best night of sleep I had enjoyed in I don't know how long EVEN with the interruptions to try this and that and a different mask and such.

I settled on a pillows style mask which is really more of a canula burst out to form soft "pillows" which fit against the nostrils. I am not a mouth breather, so the pillows worked quite well and I do not have to use a full nasal mask a full face mask or any such. It straps around the crown of the head just so with two straps, one of the mask material itself, and the other a spongy rubber. No face indents are left for the morning, and I have been sleeping very well now since first receiving it around the end of Novermber.

Thrilled and blessed am I,

Hello fellow CPAPers.

It is really really difficult to get that face mask adjusted correctly. DO look at those diagrams that are included. Plus, washing the silicone thing with Baby Shampoo and warm water is helpful. (I've been told that using hand soap to clean it can adversely affect your nasal membranes.) And make sure your skin is clean.

If it is leaving deep indentations on your skin, it may not be correctly adjusted. A couple of thin pieces of spongy foam are helpful to protect your face. I found that eliminating the "ramp" time was better for me. That way the full air pressure blows almost immediately, rather than building up over 20 min. or so.

Oh, and I trained myself to fall asleep lying on my back, rather than my side.

I hate to say "hang in there", but there's just really no other way to get it figured out! Good luck and sweet dreams!

One more thing: I always save my silicone masks so I can rotate them. Saves me from constantly having to wash one every single night!
