I was unable to tolerate the sleep machine CPAP as it spend more time on the floor than on me. The sleep clinic didn't mention TAP as they wanted to sell me a machine and kept saying be persistent. I learned of TAP and went to the dentist to be examined and impressions taken. I received the TAP about 10 days later and that was 6 weeks ago. I have been able to tolerate the TAP without any problems. It is a dental insert into the mouth that looks a lot light a football players mouth pieces, top and bottom. They hook together and the top has some gears which you turn and it pulls the bottom jaw forward forcing the throat open. It takes only a minute to insert and easy to clean by brusing with a tooth brush and soaking in mouth wash. It is a lot easier to use and maintain. The problem is most insurances won't pay for it. I shopped and found dentists charged from $1100 to $1800 using the same device and same labratory. I can't explain the difference. I used the $1100 dentist and he is one of the most modern in the area. Timm
