Default The book...

I've been encouraged several times to write a book, so I started focusing to get all these thoughts down. I downloaded them to a disc, just in case...the disc has a tiny deep scratch embedded. I have no idea how this happened but several months are caput, gone, zero, nada...yep.

I decided to not have so many sites I was using so I could work on my great masterpiece...well, guess we won't be seeing this on PBS.lol
If my DH starts working out of town, I can start over, a new start isn't always so bad...

Brain, just in case you read this...it also had all the publishing info you sent me. I know I should have written this info down...smack, owww...that hurt. I know how you kids feel now when I smack ya.

Oh, Momma, that's just awful.

There are places that repair discs. Maybe they could recover a portion of what was on it?

Do start again. I'd love to read a book written by you. I'll bet it'd have a down-home folksy style like Mark Twain.

UGH! I can't tell you how many things like this have happened to me, too. Do keep at it though - I mean, as much as you write anyway, why not?

I don't have that pm where I wrote that info, and the book I got it from is packed up someplace. But for now is can tell you this.... Look up Accentuate Writer's forum. They have a thread for paying and non paying markets. I get a lot of good leads there, and the people are really supportive.

My name there is rudy2.

Good luck!

Thank you my sweets...and I will keep at it...I backup to a disc when I clean my hard drive. Since I saved them to docs before the disc I might still have some of it stored on the back up discs.

Thanks my lil Brain, I will check it out. I can probably get a lot done now that my DH is working out of town and will be gone most of the time. I might get to see him in a couple of weeks if he can come home.

I'm glad to hear that, that you're gonna keep at it. I've been slacking due to circumstances, but perhaps when I get back home I'll pick it up too. We'll see.

Depends if I'm going home and staying, then I just have me and the pets to worry about. If we do end up getting the house down here I gotta get stuff sorted and will be able to write once we're settled down here.

I'm not going to stress about life being up in the air. Not going to stress.

Momma,

You have a talent and if it makes you feel good, keep at it. I hope you can recover your files. I hate it when that happens.

Brain, I would not want to have to pack up and move again. When I move the next time, its going to be a house on wheels.lol

Ewiz...thank you. I'm sure I have some on discs, I just need to find them and look at them.

I can't recover anything off the damaged disc, the scratch is too deep. I think I do know how it got there...Garfield, my very nosey, curious, can't leave anything shiny alone cat. I found him slapping an old music disc around last night, I think he jumped on my desk and knocked it off to play with.

He used to get my thread off the spool holder until I finally put it all in a drawer, he still tries to help me sew.lol I have to really watch cause I'm afraid he will get his foot caught if he tries to catch the needle. He doesn't slap at it but he sure watches it while I'm sewing.

Oh those kitties. Our last tabby, Tiger Puff, actually would swallow sewing needles. I found him throwing up once and it was just saliva and a needle!!!! And he survived to nine years old!! He was a real stinker but we loved him.

Our current kitty, Rocky, chews on everything but two of his favorites are anything with adhesive like bandaids or tape, and wires, including power cords.

We came home from vacation last winter to find that both computer monitor cables had been chewed through. Now I have to spray every cord in the house with a deterrent spray.
