Smile Hello

Hello,
I have never posted before so I thought I would post tonight. I have RSD in my upper and lower extremities and now I have developed migraine headaches. I control my RSD now with Tai Chi exercise. Every day I do my Tai Chi for half hour then I do some strengthening exercises for my arms and legs. Also, the Tai Chi is helping to control my migraine headaches. I have had RSD now for 24 years. Before I developed migraine headaches I was on a cardiovascular exercise program three times a week and I lifted small amount of weights with my arms and legs. I use to do the aeorobic exercise for forty minutes on the stationary bike, but it always gave me a migraine headache. This is why my doctor recommended that I do Tai Chi. My doctor also told me to get an instructor to show me Tai Chi. I took an 8 week course down the county college to learn the Tai Chi. I thought the class was great. Every week the instructor taught us a new step. I have found Tai Chi to be very relaxing too. I hope some of this information is helpful to someone. I hope to post soon.

Smile Hi Laraine!

It's great to have you on the forums! I'm not really that familiar with RSD, but I've read about it some, and I have a sister who suffers from migraines. I think it's good that you can control your conditions with a minimum of medicines. I hope you make a lot of friends here, and hope to see you post more in the future!

Hello, Laraine!

Just wanted to say welcome to the forum, and I'm also a new member. I found the sight a couple of days ago, and everyone is so nice on here, it's awesome.

Not familiar with RSD, but I do about the migraines. I used to get them until my doctor prescribed Inderal LA 60 mg tablets @ bedtime. Does tai chi work really well. I've have fibromyalgia, and I believe MS, but would love to know if tai chi would help relieve any of those pains.

Please let me know, and again welcome to the forum, and hope to get to know you better.

Good Luck, and hope you're pain free today!

Smile Thank you for the warm Welcome

Hello,
I have just started to post here on Monday so I am new too. My doctor recommended to me to do Tai Chi for my RSD and my migraines. He said it is very gentle moves so that would be good for my RSD and its a great cardiovascular program. It has been the only exercise I can do that doesn't bring on a migraine. I have looked up Tai Chi on the internet and it has so many health benefits and it also said that it helps with weight loss. I was happy to hear that it helps with weight loss since some of the meds I am on causes your metabolism to slowdown. Its nice meeting you Shanda I hope we can continue to communicate on this website. Take Care hope you have a pain free day.
