Hi, I am new here and I am trying to post in the forum
about Lyrica, but I don't see a "New Thread" option

I am having horrible problems. I just started taking, for the first time,
50mg. of Lyrica last night and my urination has immediately DROPPED
by over 80% !! I drank about 5 large glasses if water this morning and
hardly anything is coming out 4 hours later.

I'm terrified my kidneys have been damaged by the Lyrica.
I stopped taking it. Extreme danger seems to be indicated.
I only took it one time ...50 mg. that's all!

I never had this problem with neurontin.
I pray to God my kidney function will come back.

Hi,

I called the on-call neurologist and he said to stop
taking Lyrica and everything should return to normal.
He said he's never heard of this problem with Lyrica.

The more I search the Internet the more I see about
problems like this. Lyrica seems to have more side
effects than Neurontin. This is terrible. I also am
experiencing immediate constipation after just that
1 capsule of 50 mg. Lyrica.

whats the med for?

I had CO2 laser turbinate reductions done in 2004.
Shortly thereafter, I developed an unusual form
of nocturnal atypical trigeminal neuralgia, which
consists of pain, deep, deep inside my right nasal,
and possibly further back, where the ENT may have
burned membrane and damaged nerves.

There is *no* facial pain. No trigger point anywhere
on the face. The trigger point is deep inside the
right inferior turbinate ... actually about 1/4" past
it at the membrane of the head.

I have snap-spasms inside my head during sleep.
There is no pain during the snap-spasms, but they
wake me right up in TERROR. (seizure-like)

Cannot sleep without sedation, red wine, and
Neurontin. (currently 700 mg. at bedtime)

Possibly some type of vascular compression when I
lay my head down -- nerve damage for sure. I tried
sleeping propped up ... but still same thing.

The ENT who did the CO2 laser surgery at 8 watts
does not want to see me anymore. That figures.

I am considering a trigger-point nerve block here in
San Diego at UCSD.
