Default Get on up on this here porch...

Child, come on, get on up here on this here big ole lap. Now then hush up them tears. Its just a storm, God's way of cleanin off the dirt, just like I do when I wash yo face. We all have times we need a cleanin of the soul, storms do that.

Well, you remember last week when my sewing machine broke, then my laptop, yeah that's right. Those were not fun things at all. Then just Thursday, Sheba walked out the gate and got in a fight with the neighbor's dog, yeah she did hurt that dog bad. I know Harley is a bulldog, but still, that's just the way of dogs child. Well, that was a bad week, yeah and been sick for almost a year. So sometimes, a good storm washes all the bad away, but it could be a long time before that storm comes. We just have to hold on and wait be as patient as we can until things get better, but honey we ain't got warranties on these ole bodies that says it gets better. Hope is what makes us get up and do all over each day, it ain't easy, but it is a thang we can do.

Why child baby, don't you know why I do it everyday? I do it cause I have people I love, and what would you think if I didn't get up after all them times I've told you how precious a life is. Ahhh, smell that baby? MMMMmmm, that's fresh rain on dirt, nothin like it clean earth, washed as new and fresh as new sheets. Take a deep breath, now take a another one, what you smell? That's right, you ain't smelled no oil from cars, no gas, no garbage, just clean air and fresh dirt after the storm.

Storms are good, wash away all the bad and leaves a soul feeling fresh, clean and handle thangs for a little while longer. Oh, Baby, my storm'll come, it'll come one day soon...until then, I'll just hug on you and count my stars and love you to the moon and back.

Now, let's go get those fresh honey buns out of the oven, I think I hear em screamin to get out. Besides, them other lil hooligans will be along sooner than later I spect.
