liberals act like only the cops can be trusted and most cititzens are evil and the cops are good

its just silly

i hear there are now student groups forming for the right to carry guns to defend themselves from these crazy punks that shoot innocent people

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

More people are killed or wounded with other weapons
than with guns, but guns seems to make the headlines
more than anything else, unfortunately!

Considered the mass murders that were done by drugs?
or the mass slayings? such the like .. pretty much have
been forgotten and wiped out of our minds.

Your own kitchen fork is considered a deadly weapon
and can kill someone (it's been done before many times)
but it's never made the headlines anywhere. Or a booze
bottle picked up from the street broken, and used to slit
someone's throat and left them to die, has rarely ever
made the headlines (unless there were no other news
available).

The United States Constitution gave me the RIGHT TO
BEAR ARMS ... and that upon it I stand. I am very much
a NRA - but I am also very much in PUBLIC EDUCATION
as well.

I believe with Shadows Dispelling and Myths Revoking,
people will understand, and practice gun safety and not
being so fearful of them. No matter what and where,
things will get into the wrong hands of the wrong people,
and this is something that no one can really truly stop
but we can at least try. The LAW prohibits FELONS from
even owning guns, but yet they obtain them via the
black market or steal them, the same way they break
into stores with knives and hold up innocent cashiers
and rob them, and rape women, and possibilities harm
more people, and yet, because of "good behavior" they
get released early from prison, and the cycle repeats
itself.

I believe in strict gun control laws - Florida has it, and
so do some other States. Education is IMPORTANT.
Unfortunately, there's still a lot of ignorance out there!

if i went to college i wouldnt care if some of the trusted non criminal students were licencned to carry a gun just like the cops -hidden i mean

why do people assume only cops are good people ? sometimes cops are scum anyway

and what i heard -the cops took theire time getting to that jerk killing those people and they llook so obese what good are they as effective cops anyway?

you wanna be a cop - you lose weight -thats my opinion anyway

The Swiss also don't have a "Wild West" past either. Did you know the sign language in Iraq for "American" is the motion of shooting two pistols, like in old Western movies?

I've had more experience with bad police than I've had with good police. They can be just as quick to go too far with force, but at least they have more training on when to shoot and when not to shoot. Even then....pfffft.

I wouldn't encourage non-hunting citizens to carry guns. I've had a loaded 12-gauge directed in my face by someone who was furious with me. I was also shot at once from a distance (wrong turn, wrong neighborhood). I still won't carry a gun.

Carrying a gun wouldn't have saved me during those two sticky situations, and I wouldn't even want to be tempted to commit murder. If someone breaks into my home, I'll call the police. If they attempt to harm or kill me, it will be their problem, not mine. THEY will be the ones dining in Hell, not me.

Clouds - You talkin' to me? Are YOU talkin' to ME?

As I said, I've seen more bad cops than good cops. I know all about Chicago - it's been my home for 47 years. As you said, Chicago is pretty well known for their "bad cops." My own experience supports this reputation, so I won't argue with you there. Won't argue with the danger level in some areas either.

I referred to sign language and Americans being famous for their "Wild West" past internationally. We boast about it ourselves with our nation's capitol Washington Redskins football team, and all the hullabaloo over Indian mascots in schools.

This has been the excuse all along to keep Indian mascots - national pride in killing off all those "savages." Did you know the State of Tennessee recently passed a LAW protecting the right of schools to keep their disrespectful mascots/team names?

We can see firsthand what it can do to a person to be continually mocked and ridiculed for their heritage/culture - it's all over the news.
