Default what year would you pick if you could and why

Ok this may have been done before but heres a fresh version of it

If you could pick a year no limits back even forwards and explain why

Me I would love 90s or 80s

Because it was peaceful mainly pagers call phones barely coming out
The internet starting not much to do on it
Summed simple peaceful
People cared more our word was our honor and not just thrown around
Respect honor more helping and sharing you need it her you go and yo know it will come back
Kids were out running the town not inside on games for months
Tvs mainly family time same with movies
I just love it I love less technology if you do timeline the more technology that cam the more violence and less honor respect caring helping sharing
80s 90s we had a beef iw was called to your face not net or text then we beat the crap out of each other and it finished end of problem till he says another thing about your sister
My dad di lock smith on the side I always went cant count the times mothers etc hey said hey don’t worry about paying
My pc business as off and on the side made my wife mad I always helped and gave stuff away
It was never a huge take off or business but they were all happy
I was honest I had hourly charge never enforced and un like shops I told them all the problems and fixed them sold or gave parts needed
Heck I could and have lived with nothing after my divorce I got public housing no ac until week before I left lol
No tv no pc nothing I liked that just a hard line phone my legs to walk and my car kept me outside allot

That’s mine what’s your favorite

There is obviously the standard go back & stop Hitler response to this, however, for purely selfish reasons, I would go back to 1919 & place a rather hefty wager on the Chicago 'Black' Sox losing the World Series & live out my days in luxury in a time where wearing a designer suit as every day attire, didn't make others look at you like you had three heads & a tail...

As I am English, I only found out about the scandal by watching the film "Eight Men Out" & found it fascinating. As a sports nut, I found it very sad...

So many years—so many eras! (dilettante historian )

At this particular moment (ask me again and my answer will likely differ), for similar motives as Andy (though I'd invest in certain companies rather than wager on sports), 1939 was a magical year for many reasons. Among them, it was THE Golden Year/Era for movies/motion pictures.

1939 in film

LOL I can say the same thing (from an American perspective) about Guy Fawkes and V for Vendetta, William Wallace and Braveheart, Rob Roy MacGregor and Rob Roy... On second thought, don't get me started; I've learned a LOT about history after seeing movie depictions of events & persons.

N.B. Hold the admonishments—I'm keenly aware that movie history usually has as much (i.e. little) to do with facts/real history as waving the book over the script/film can...

Movies have been the impetus/starting points for much of what I've learned/forgotten about history & other subjects. Moreso than books; movies have prompted me to read many more books than books have prompted me to see movies.

Definitely 1979

But knowing then what I know now. The only thing I would not change is having my two children.

If I could go back and live a year again, it'd be 1969

A brave new world.
Naive, scary, revolutionary.
Change had begun.

Oh, 1966 when the most weighty thing on my mind was whether to mix Coke with cherry or orange soda at Boy Scout summer camp.
