I am always trying to get rid of things. The older I get, the harder it is to have to move things around just to find other things.
I understand Marie Kondo has become quite popular. I read her book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and thought she had quite a few good ideas. She's in favor of discarding things that don't "spark joy" when you see them. I wouldn't go quite that far because you never know when you might need something you might think at the moment you don't need but there's a lot to be said for adjusting that idea and just tossing more things.

Here in America we have been programmed to buy buy buy consume consume consume, if we went thru life and just acquiored what we NEEDED to survive, we would have very little to get rid of.
Breaking what we have been programmed to do is a very tough process. For many areas in life. |
