Default Life Changing Events in My Life

With aging, we all think about our previous life. My friends are my age and older, a couple younger ones, but mostly the "senior" group.

1. My Birth
2. Marriage
3. Birth of Daughter
4. Divorce

5. Starting my path in alternative/complimentary healing.
6. Pycnogenol/Grape Seed Extract coming into my life.

There are more, but these are the Big Profound 6.

Add your "events"......C

Cool Smirk

Apart from my Grandchildren, mine are too Depressing to list. I wouldn't like to inflict them on my Friends here.

Dave.

I think this is a good exercise for anyone to do. Mine too might be too depressing. I'll try to do one that is somewhat generic.
Hmmm....

I just tried to do it and it was somewhat depressing.

It starts with a blood disease dx'd in my teens and gets weirder and more difficult from there.

Then, all sorts of other health problems that truly did alter my life. I have two college degrees, but have been very limited in my ability to use them. My health has caused all sorts of havoc.

On the positive side, also life changing is my marriage to a wonderful, supportive spouse.

Birth of two children....life altering.

In recent years, I have been dx'd with a painful nerve condition and another autoimmune disease...very difficult and also life altering.

However, this time around, I have very supportive, caring doctors and I feel this support is huge with reference to my ability to enjoy life a little more fully and with a little more bravado.

Birth of grandchild...not life altering per say, but wonderful!

I too am exploring natural alternatives and am very excited about it. Have recently discovered Oil of oregano might very well help to prevent upper respitory infections...fingers crossed!

Thanks for the two shares....Life is pros and cons and I know if I made a pro con list I'd come up with more pros...

I could belly ache and I do about this messed up hip replacement that wasn't supposed to end the way it has, but it's getting old and I'm learning that more and more as years go on. Accepting "what is"..

I should have mentioned in the original list:

Between marriage and divorce: My kicking and fighting move to CA from PA...as hard as it was and it was, I am a changed person in so many ways and like myself much more now. Learned that I can do almost anything I put my mind to.

But too with aging and Mind Opening, so many change.

Hope others Might share some.

Caroline2,
I love this question. Here are mine-

Getting my driver's license.
Going away to college.
Getting married.
Becoming a mother.
My first day as a teacher.
My first day as a school librarian (my dream job).
Becoming a grandmother.
Waking up one morning with pain that never went away.

I'm curious to see what others have to say. Thanks for asking!

Thanks, Caroline, for this thread!

Many of my life events were quite traumatic/tragic. I want to leave those out for now. I may get courageous enough to share them sometime.

- Going away to college
- Working in my chosen field
- Sudden Onset of a Myriad of Chronic Illnesses/Chronic Pain (These slowly accrue and last 30+ years.)
- Having to File for Disability
- Learning Buddhist Practices and Using These Practices
- Meeting and Marrying my Best Friend (20+ year marriage continues)
- Training my own Service Dog and Employing Her to Change State Service and Companion Animal Laws
- Learning about CAM/Integrative medicine
- Learning about "Energy Healing" Modalities (Quantum Physics)
- Taking time to Heal Relationship With a Parent (Live-In for 3 years)
- To Be Continued...
