Default Not sure where to post this - Funeral Flowers

In less than a month's time, I've poured through so many sites for ordering flowers (three funerals).

Are there particular companies that are best to deal with - in terms of reliability - and more reasonably priced than others? and ones to definitely avoid?

I'm trying to make a selection for the third funeral; the services are tomorrow - and I definitely don't want to be ripped off. (What I've done so far, is tailored the orders to the specific people, so the companies I've used in the past aren't a "one-size-suits-all.")

I've had good luck so far with the companies I've used; one of my doctors told me yesterday about one to avoid, only she couldn't remember its entire name. Now, I'm hoping to be able to avoid any that deliver dead flowers.

i'm sorry for all the loses.

bobbi, i tend to use ftd. they use local florists.

i have gotten some very nice ones delivered to me by 1-800-flowers.( their web site is the same as their number ) only 1 time were they pretty dried out. they got left at the front door, which faced the hot west texas sun.

Thank you .

Two of the funerals are sort of related - friends of mine that I grew up with and who are also the step brother and son-in-law of another friend, who was taken to the hospital by ambulance yesterday. He's home now and doing okay. He and his wife were asked: "Are you considering suicide?" . Geeze, I know it's a lot of stress, but there are not feeling that level. His wife thought he was having a stroke and called 9-1-1.

His sons and I have decided to not tell him, for now, that his 88-year-old mother got news from her doctor today that she needs surgery. Her grandson and his wife will come home (from overseas) next month and be with her for the surgery and though her recovery.

His wife called this morning and asked me to write a eulogy - for the services tomorrow. Either his wife or their pastor will read it; my doctors have advised that I not travel to the services. His wife thinks that I'll be able to "capture" her husband's sense of humor and convey his personality better than anyone else. Talk about pressure, but I'm not going to let her down. I am going to avoid, though, repeating things he stated or the eulogy could be a huge bomb. His mother-in-law thought the things were funny, yet he did have such an off-beat or twisted sense of humor, which might not go over well with some. That's probably why I got along so well with him .

His wife and mother-in-law would enjoy what I have to say; I'm not so sure his sons will, however. He used to "prank" them when they were real small - and I doubt that they would remember but it might upset them.

We used to sit on his porch at night, and freezing our beehinds off, and tell one another stories about what we had planned for our "golden years" and for our funerals. It was funny to us, and we had similar ideas .

The other thing he was phenomenal at was his ability to mimic people; he was a quick study and could immitate their mannerism, voice, etc., so perfectly.

I'm thinking, Sue, that what I'll do is write about his sense of humor and how important having such a refined one is in life... and that's one of the aspects that a lot of people will always remember about him - along with having a heart of gold.
