I hope you sleep well, Idealist ........
I was posting 'wonders' at another place on NeuroTalk. ... and checking another forum for news of the travellers attending a special wedding. (The Alffes and others arrived and all had a nice meal in a restaurant with the happy couple after their rehearsal today.) Yes, Thailand was cool. We were there for about 4 months ... when the kids were just little 'uns. Hmmmm.... I'm hungry too ... and I don't think carrots are gonna work for me!

did i say it would work for me? lol would love to sneak a piece of that pizza in your fridge...
but it did give an awesome idea for lunch tomorrow. i just happened to buy yeast today...perfect for making pizza dough. actually it didn't take much for me to be snack happy. it's about 1am here and we had dinner at 5pm. earlier than i am used to. my dad was stationed in thailand. i still have a bush hat that he brought home for me..and a silk outfit. i even have a picture of me wearing it. lol. i would love to travel. not car travel...maybe a in a motor home...but preferable just to fly across the world. last real trip was to cancun. i used to go every year. marraige sure changes that. |

I would love to travel too .....
I would love to own a car ... I would love to have found more than just one slice of pizza left in the fridge ... I would love to be at that wedding ... I would love to be more fit and slim ... (afterall, I have been going to an Adult Hip-Hop class -what a laugh!- and pilates ...)

I know you would, Scrabble. I can tell by the way ya say it.
Well, the sleep thing didn't work for me tonight. The sun's coming up outside, and I'm still awake. I came so darned close!!! Then a noise brought me out of it and...oh, well, you both know the feeling... I'm okay. Just tired. So I'm just ramblin'. Hopefully, both of you are sleeping deeply right now, what with the time-zones and everything. I didn't know people even bought yeast anymore. You make pizza-dough from scratch??? You just GOTTA figure out a way to zap some of your home-cookin' to me through the internet, Curious. I'm so glad to hear that the Alffes are having a good time. I've been wondering. And hoping. I'd like to travel more, too. I spent almost two years in Germany when I was in the service, and visited Paris and Amsterdam and Ludwig's castles and some other neat stuff. But I was too young then to appreciate it enough. I'm sure it would be a totally different experience now that I'm "mature"... Sweet dreams girls... |

Mornin' Night Owls
your talk of travel reminded me of how I loved living in London! ..........so cheap to just hop a ferry over to France, rent a car and go anywhere all over Europe I loved travelling around the British Isles as well, and Scotland is quite one of my most favorite places in the whole world, tho france and Italy come a close second! When I lived in Africa, my favourite travel was to the ginormous game parks in an old VW Kombi camper with one of those opening sunroofs. We would leave the campsite before dawn and find a river or waterhole and park under a tree and just wait and watch the pageant of wild life come to drink and frolic in the water. Being able to view from the top out the sunroof was needed when the prides of lions arrived and took us a little closer to the gorgeous eyes of the giraffes We once spent an entire fascinating morning watching the antics of a family of monkeys (hehehe see why I love ya Curious ) In the 16+ years that I have lived in the States, I have tried to travel to as much of this amazing country as possible and especially love going to where the mountains are (I grew up in the mountains around Cape Town,SA and so living here in flat Florida has been quite a readjustment for me!) havent been able to travel too far for a few years now due to my business needing me here almost 24/7. well, thanks for the travel talk cos it sure brought back some happy memories

Idealist, I'm sorry you didn't get much sleep. (Maybe you are sleeping now?)
Bizi has joined me in the chatroom so I'm multi-tasking .... typing this, drinking coffee, eating a bagel with peanut butter, and keeping the chatroom window open in the background to see when bizi is back from getting a coffee too. (bizi is Alffe's daughter) I loved Scotland too, Chemar. I lived in St. Andrews for a year, quite a few years ago. Africa sounds amazing! Sounds like a wonderful photo opportunity ... especially being closer to eye-level with giraffes! cheers,

Thanks Scrabble. I finally nodded off for a few hours just before noon, but never enough, I'm afraid... I'm still mighty tired. My three younguns has been talking my head off for the past six hours. Each one has to have their own personal time to talk to me, then it's all together...I love it, but...
Chemar, do you write professionally? Because if you don't, you sure ought to give it a thought. That was a beautiful description of Africa, and in such a short amount of space! It made me jealous that I've never seen anything like that. I was born in the mountains, though, so I'm very familiar with them. Like you, it's flat where I live now, about a hundred miles from the Atlantic Coast in VA. The mountains aren't very far away, though, and I can be on Skyline Drive in only two hours whenever I can make it, so... Wonder where that Curious monkey wandered off to now... |

Ain't no night-owls around tonight. Wonder if they migrate on a bi-nightly basis...
