Art show went well. Glad it was a small one, very good experience. Met a couple of other artists, and got some neat advice.

something awesome happened yesterday :: I got outta here and went to a new quilt shop in a new (very small town) .. about 30 minutes away ...

I told her about the quilt corp - and my idea to make quilts for the vision-impaired ... and she is excited for me and said to me as soon as I put together how I want to approach this, she will contact her quilting guilds and other contacts about my mission!

and back on Thursday, I went to Nancy Notions here in town, and talked to a girl about it ... and she is going to help set up a 'workshop' Saturday in March (now remember, this place is the *in* about quilting, sewing stuff) ...

now to keep my calm ... stress level down ... the friend I met yesterday already has me 'moving' into a bigger building to live and have a place for quilters and programs!

okay .. better go before I get a 'big' head about this ... need to stay humble! this is for those with a need - and I have the tool to meet it ... and to leave it as a legacy for years to come after I'm gone!:winky:

Good Morning! Ahhh...the weather here is cool and there's very low humidity. I went outside to feed the birds and it felt so good.

We had a good time at the birthday party yesterday. They had smoked a boston butt and made chopped bbq out of it. Also had hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill and a million side dishes. There were probably 50-60 people there...I was surprised! Kevin racked up the giftcards and even won $50 off of a lottery ticket someone gave him as a gift! He said he's going to save it and buy tickets when the jackpot is really large. He spent the night up there last night as the party went on till after midnight.

Jessica's Mom made the cutest birthday cake. It looked like a huge cheeseburger! She did a really good job on it - I thought she bought it somewhere but she made it herself. I was impressed! Not sure I could pull off something like that.

Matt and I came back home last night but he went right back out to another cookout at a friends house. Wish I had his energy! Guess I did when I was 25. He ended up staying the night at this friends house so it's very quiet here this morning. I am not complaining!

Just sitting here watching a little bird feed it's babies underneath the birdfeeder. There's a bunny eating over by the barn. Very peaceful to watch.

Think I'll put on a pot of butterbeans and let them cook real slow all day. I got some fresh silver queen corn, too. Maybe we'll have it for dinner tonight.

Vonn - girl, you're just becoming famous!! I want a quilt so I can say "I knew her when..."!! I'm so proud of you! You're always thinking of others. :)

Good morning all :) Woke up later than usual. Using my usual cup of coffee to help with the jumpstart. Need to go pick up my paintings around noon, and I feel like a slug - LOL

I'm very sore right now from yesterday. I guess all the standing around I did made my muscles scream, even with the moments of sitting down I did. Either that or it was all the little chores I did to steady my nerves beforehand, LOL. ;)

Just hoping I feel better this afternoon. Going to a friend's house. Haven't seen them for awhile.

I couldn't keep up with the "insights" thread in my other life, and I can't keep up with this one either! :D I think it must be like starting to watch a TV series that's been on already for a few years: Who's that guy? Are they together? What did she mean by that reference? Who are they talking about? What's going on???

I lurk once in a while and enjoy the glimpse into all of your lives, but it boggles my mind the way you are able to keep track of each thread woven in among the others!

Hey everyone! The party was nice yesterday. We got home about 7:30pm and chilled the rest of the night. Chris moves out tomorrow and both boys will be gone until Thanksgiving. Kind of sad about it but glad to have my house back too. lol

It is such a beautiful day and a shame not to enjoy it. So, have a great Sunday and stay cool! :grouphug:
