In my case, I'm not talking skeeter bites, so that threw me.

I've been reading your posts ... yous are funny!! skeeters, molehills ... what's this thread coming to??

me?? had some good insight from a fellow-poster ... and I just got back from laundry now ... going to really make a dent in packing this weekend ... have to ... my 'wonderful' landlady actually has been talking to people about my illness (isn't that like 'slander') ... and then, instead of stopping over to ask me about something - sent a certified letter to me (duh, she lives kiddy-corner from me!)

so I'm po'd to say the least - and got this new energy (it's killing me on top of it) .. but I gotta get outta here and GO TO DODGE!

she was the one that begged me to come up here - but it wasn't to be a part of the group ""family"" .. it was so she'd make $$ ... I'm so gullible - hard to trust people ... then got the dx ... and she's been campaigning to whoever will listen about helping me ... basically, so she'd get $$ ...

anyways - on to better things ... emptied out another storage box ... and repacking with painting supplies ... off I go ...

OH - picked fresh lilacs today ... and they smell maaavvv-ol-lus, sweetheart!

Hi everyone! There are too many people on here for me to respond individually to everyone so I will just give you all a big "HEY!!!"

I do have to say that I did not understand Sandy's original reference either. I thought the valium I took for my MRI this morning was making messing with my brain. No skeeter bites here either. I loved your cartoon Kay! I have discovered that I do not like valium; just made me dizzy and gave me a bit of a headache.

After MRI, I went with a friend to Borders to buy some more books, to buy some bagels at Panera's, and out to lunch at an Italian restaurant. We had to take advantage of being in the big city.

Summer has arrived here in Central Illinois; temperature is up to 87 degrees. but now we are under a tornado watch until 10:00 tonight. Everyone up north (Sandy, Frank, Wiz, -- be careful).

p.s. northern wisc here ... IN A TORNADO MAGNET!!!

weegot5kiz 05-30-2008 08:50 PM

yeah its been an interesting day, kind of worried about sandy right now the county she lives in is sagamon i think, its under alert, I hope the rest of the illinois group and indiana folks keep an ear open for those sirens

renee what part of ar kansas you hail from debs is from bryant and benton close to hot springs area

everyone have a wonderful fun filled weekend, just double checked its not sandys county under alert

peace love and free valiums to all parents of more than two kids:eek:

FinLady 05-31-2008 08:35 AM

Renee, :hug: Thanks for the update. Prayers still being sent for ya.

Sandy, didn't get your initial reference either, LOL. :ROTFLMAO::ROTFLMAO:

Vonn, unfortunately, not everyone knows to keep their mouth shut. :mad: I've had a few people that I've had to point blank ask not to tell everyone about my dx.

Barb, Glad you had a good time with your friend. Sorry to hear that the valium didn't work out for ya while you were "shooting the tube".

Frank, each state is a little different about their motorcycle rules. :rolleyes: Ohio actually has a list of mopeds that are the only street vehicles on two or three wheels that don't need the motorcycle endorsement on the license in order to operate them legally. Just trying to hunt down what's needed to have a limited endorsement for three wheels only. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
:holysheep: Was up until really late last night due to a round of thunderstorms rolling through here! Lots of wind, lightning, and thunder. Kitties didn't like it either, so they were huddled by me a lot.
Now it looks like the beginning of a hot, hazy day.:Bang-Head: Time to break out the cooling scarves and vests.
Vonn07 05-31-2008 08:46 AM
apparently the storms and such went BELOW where I am ... suppose to be sorta a nice day today, but tomorrow better ...
thanks, Jenn ... I can understand when people are concerned, but to be blabbing it around ...dumb dumb dumb ... oh well, that's why I'm moving! (well, one of the reasons)
have more to pack and repack, pay the electric bill, homework, quilt ... tomorrow is the same other than paying the electric! HAHA .. BUT, going to go thru all my bills again and sort them out - it's hard, but I don't have anyone to help me sort stuff like this out ... so, I procrastinate ...
have a great weekend everybody!
Sending good vibes to you....sorry you have to deal with this! Hang in there :hug:
Momma's Kids 05-31-2008 09:22 AM
It is against the law in any state to bury your husband alive, right? Thought so...want me to come do it for ya!? They would never believe that I of all people would do such a thing!!
You know my X did the same thing...I left on Sunday, he went to the bank Monday...I had over 30000 in that account I deposited from a sale the Friday before.
You hang in there girl, you'll be fine, remember, sometimes people can hold you back and you never reach your potential. Maybe its time you reach yours...just thinking in my own full of holes brain here. Haven't a clue why I even thought of it.:hug:
MelodyL 05-31-2008 09:44 AM
HENCE THE EXPRESSION!!!
SEPARATE BANK ACCOUNTS
Is Greenjeans still married to this guy?? Sorry to pry, just curious.
My husband's first wife did this to him. They were married 3 months.
He came home from the army to find the locks changed, she took all the furniture, and drained the bank accounts. He was all of 25 or 26, and had no clue.
Her father was mortified and tried to speak to my husband telling him, "my daughter is nuts to do this". Seemed she had another guy on the side.
And they were married only 3 months. Can you believe this??
Do you know how long it took my husband TO TRUST ANYONE?
well, we've been married 28 years so obviously I won his trust.
CayoKay 05-31-2008 10:25 AM
the "flood-flies" are hatching in the jungle!
flood flies are giant beachball-sized termite nests which produce SWARMS of insects after the first big rains here.
yesterday, the Rainy Season commenced in our part of Belize, and we had to act quickly!
Initiating Operation Huddle-Mode:
"This is Flood-Fly Control: Do you read?"
"Roger, FF Control, now preparing for second wave of invasion."
"Commencing countdown, mossie nets fully engaged..."
"Initiate sequence - 'Secure All Gaps' now"
"FFC, we're good to go!"
Untie under-layer of net
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/8103/dscn5533kt3.jpg
Outer layer of mossie-netting secured.
:D life in the jungle is SUCH an adventure !!
weegot5kiz 05-31-2008 10:59 AM
MelodyL 05-31-2008 11:00 AM
Holy Cow!!!
Flood Flies???
Love the netting over the bed. Looks like something out of Arabian Nights.
But if it keeps the flies out, well, you do what you can do!!
Never heard of Flood-flies, nesting termites.
Good Lord,
I will never complain about an ant again.
lol
hugs to deb... things are settled down now... the hatching is over, praise the heavens!
and NO, he wouldn't get the light, puppy-dog eyes or not... see him curled up in the sateen sheets, with our kitty?
lol, he wasn't leavin' the bed for NUFFIN, muffin !!
yes, bamboo grows here.
a friend built that gorgeous four-poster bamboo bed for us.
and I bought the mossie nets at Bed Bath & Beyond, four years ago - before I came here... but AFTER visiting Belize, so I knew I would NEED them, in order to achieve restful sleep.
we slept like ANGELS last night, while flying critters landed all over the net.
this morning, all we had to do was sweep up all the debris... and be happy that our house is made of concrete blocks.
the termites won't find that very appetizing.
:p:D:p
CayoKay 05-31-2008 11:25 AM
here's one family's adventure with the yearly invasions:
http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/1...charleypq8.jpg
Of course everyone in the Wolf family remembered the time the flood flies invaded their jungle camp. It was in the early Spring as the calendar year of months would typically reflect. The family had just hunkered down during another torrential rainstorm. The type of storm when the rain sounds like bullets rick-a-shaying off the zinc roof, when the wind howls and the trees appear to be close to snapping from it’s force, and lightening strikes are occurring one after another. And then just as quick as the storm is upon you, the clouds blow away and the sun reappears.
This particular day as the storm departed, suddenly there were a handful of winged flies gathering on the wire mesh screen on the porch. At first Charley didn’t think twice about the grouping. Indeed he simply went back to reoccupying his hammock and reading his latest subscription to National Geographic magazine that had just arrived on schedule, two and a half months late.
in the first picture above, our kitty (Morda, a grand ol' lady cat) is intently watching the ducks outside.
the ducks are stationed in circles around the bases of the mango trees, gobbling as fast as they can.
apparently, termites are like Lay's Potato Chips for ducks... "Ya can't eat just ONE!"
I was surprised yesterday evening at dusk, when I went to feed the ducks, and only a FEW showed up for corn and cabbage... then I realized, they're just not hungry...
like kids, full of snacks, didn't save ANY room for a proper dinner !!
in the second picture, Morda is curled up in the left corner of the bed... she stayed under the net with us all night, lol!
here's what the flood flies (hatching termites) look like:
Hey everyone!
Frank, I missed the worst of the storms down here. They were about 40 miles north. We got alot of wind, heavy rain, and lightning, but no tornadoes. :eek: And the storms only lasted about an hour.
I am planning on going to a movie later on this afternoon. I don't know why, but I am in a really bad witchy mood today. So watch out!:Sigh::hissyfit::ranting::Bawling:
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
Kay, I love your posts. They are so informative and entertaining at the same time.
Hey all! I survived the smashing and healing just fine. I told the lady that she was trying to kill me but she just laughed. Yeah, I laughed too when I went to get dressed and I was red from the neck down. Sheesh! BUT, I was able to watch my films come up on the screen due to digital mammo's now. Whoohoo! It was pretty cool. She pointed out some lymph nodes in my muscles...that better be normal! lol
I papered and painted the guest room today. I also spray painted my vertical blinds to match the new color. Of course I have to do one more coat on the walls because I see marks. The storms stayed away from us for the most part. I hear we're in for some more tonight. Stay safe everyone!
that's what I call startin' off with a big bang !
betcha we run out of alphabet again this year... :eek:
just finished buttoning down the whole house, hurricane shutters all bolted, and candles/kerosene lamps/matches close at hand, for easy-finding in the dark.
don't worry folks, I picked this land carefully... we're not in a flood-plain, or a mud-slide area, and we have plenty of food and water.
eight inches of rain so far, wowzers !!
