NaeNae, where do they put it?

is the installation done by surgery?

how big is the thing?

and how long do they last?

is it permanent?

I'm curious, because I too have $#^% for veins...

Hi Everyone! This is a hit and run hello because I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off, LOL!!! I have been so busy that I can't keep up. I hope everyone here is doing well. I still have to post some pics of the studio when I get a chance. Sorry I'm so behind. I promise I will get them up soon.

Meanwhile, I'm heading for bed, so I maybe can finally clear this dumb cold up and get my voice back some. I'm sounding like the actress who played Momma from "Throw Momma From The Train", or is that "sultry", LOL!!

In case ya'll didn't know Sandy's boys go to the university in IL where the shooting happened, they are fine but definitely shaken up! Sandy posted it in her moms surgery thread. I wish I were there to help her out!!

I picked up my neckalce I made yesterday at the pleading of the shop owner where my stuff gets sent to..because some man was in there 3 times begging to buy it because he loved it and wanted it for his wife!

Ok, as some of yall know from last time I had roids....I had a horrible itching reaction on the back of my thighs,butt, and ummm girlie parts. So we medicated with loads of benadryl and slowed the rate down to over 3 hours. The rest of the 3 days went fine.....

Well last night the nurse didn't get here to hook me up till about 8:30 I premedicated with the benadryl...we started it over 3 hours....while she is still here my eye stars itching and goes numb....I'm thinking hmmmm...but blow it off. The nurse leaves...all of a sudden eye is really numb and I start itching in the nether regions again and on my sides....I go to the bathroom and took off my glasses.....holy freakin hell I looked like Kermit the Frog my eyes were so swollen!! I call the nurse she says let me call your doctor to see if you can have more Benadryl :holysheep: I'm already so zoned I didn't realize my eyes were bulging! She never could get my neuro and kept calling to check on me...by 11 I had had enough and disconnected the crap. She called me again at midnight to check on me and I told her I was DONE!! I took more bendaryl....and I itched all over all night.

This morning eyes are still swollen but not as bad, my head feels like it is splitting in two,my legs are shaking so bad I can hardly walk and I just left a message for my neuros nurse who lucky me is late for work!

NO MORE ROIDS!!!! :Demonstration:

Ok enough ranting!! Sandy I am thinking about you (((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Kayo-it's a little circular port they put under your skin usually above the collarbone you can take them out or leave them but they just stick the port with the needle when you need an infusion instead of a vein in your arm!

Update number two! My neuro just called me and thinks I must be the only person on the panet allergic to Solumedrol...I personally think it is too concentrated and that if they diluted it more I would be ok,but not going to test that theory! I just thought I was getting away from roids...she is putting me on a dose pack orally ( which I have never had problems with and we will try that instead) SHEESH I HATE MS!!! Gonnie sharpie MS sucks! on my forehead today!

I hope yall have a wonderful day though!!

:hug::hug::hug: Renee, OMG, so sorry to hear about the reaction to the 'roids.

Sandy, glad to hear the boys are ok.

Caroline, glad to hear the studio's doing well.

Kay, loved the pic of the pond with all the ducks on it. Thanks for the postcard :)

~~~~~
Have my cup of coffee in hand. Taking my time waking up. No work today! Yipee! :D
I'm going to meet a friend of mine for lunch. We make quite a pair. She has chron's (sp?) disease. I haven't seen her for awhile, and I hope we have a good time.
Afterwards I'm going to try to find a place that sells postcards here. Good grief, I've been not having luck with that around my area. Who knew it would be so hard? :rolleyes: I have searched and I have a few more possibilities to check out.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Renee - Holy carp!!!! I do hope you start feeling better. I too don't do well with IVSM. I react horribly. I do mine over a 2 hour period with benadryl and still react. I too prefer the oral 'roids. I find out today if I need to start them.:o:(:mad:. I get the results of my MRI and that will dictate whether or not I do them. After reading your reaction, I don't want them. LOL.
(((Sandy))) - I am glad your boys are OK. I know that it must be tearing you up to be so far away. Hang in there.
"Sultry" Carolyn - I'm sorry you have the terrible cold that is going around. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Kay - LOVE IT! Lol. That is exactly how I feel some days. Now every time I feel that way I will remember this picture and laugh.
Fin - A day off!!!! Yipee! How fun. I hope you enjoy it.
~~~

Yes, today is the day I get my results from my MRI (1 1/2 hours). I'm hoping all looks good and no 'roids.

It is pouring rain today and it supposed to get cold with possible snow at the lower elevations. It was almost 80 a couple of days ago. Go figure! I wish I didn't have to go anywhere today as it's a "lazy" day.

This weekend I am going to try to do some work at the rental. We took a couple of weekends off and now need to get cracking. DBF is going to paint doors. I am going to work on the kitchen - finish peeling paint, clean cabinets AGAIN, etc. My pace has slowed a bit as I have minimal grip strength in my hand and my balance is a little off. If all else fails, I have a couple of paintings that I need to do for him to hang in the house to make it look more homey and inviting for when he shows it. Additionally, he wants a big one done for over the bed in the master bedroom.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hey all ..

I started a new thread "another moving dilemma" .. don't want to repeat myself here .. that's why I haven't been on much - trying to get returns done to get the $$ so I can keep downsizing and get rid of the storage unit before March now!

been looking for a place .. don't really want an apartment ... don't really want a 'low-income' place either ... just want to cry :sad-dollar:

I did dismantle my daybed yesterday .. to make room for the stuff from the storage unit ...

it's been so cold - didn't go outside yesterday .. loading the car with more stuff for the thrift store (going tomorrow) ... and maybe sunday start moving more shelving and blocks out of the unit.

trying to get returns done by then - been preparing about 4 a day ... and going to school ... next week is final papers and the following week FINALS ... then it starts all over again first week of march - I don't need to go to school to help others ... it's just that I needed the money - and now I'm getting an education on top of it ..

sorry to blab on and on :Talkative:
