Thanks to everyone ... better today ... going to a friend's for sandwiches and to get out ... there's some white flakes zooming about - but not enough to keep me home!
Tricia .. that was a quilting group started by a lady that had breast cancer and was looking to do something that limited her to do other things .. and got her friends involved ... yep, they've made over 800 quilts already ... I cried as I watched that "person of the week" on Fridays ABC nightly news with Charles Gibson ... they are from Henderson, Nevada ... and thanks for thinking of me ... things will start coming together this next month or so... lots of legal paperwork to 'do it right' takes time ... and I need to finish up tax season. good news::: I may be able to get a position with the state of wisconsin: vocational rehab counselor (have to get my license to be a professional counselor) but they help with that .. and the starting pay (even for the 'in-training') starts over $35grand ... and I may have to move but, it would be worth it to work with others with disabilities and helping them to be employable ... catch you later!! |
glad you're feelin' better, Von!
 my update: it's a sultry day in the jungle, the birds are chirping up a storm, and the air is humid, heavy, and hot. the fans are going full-tilt, and the muggy weather makes me dread the upcoming summer. my guest is taking a nap in the hammock, and hubby is hammering something in the yard (I think it's new rabbit cages, we're expecting babies soon) and here I sit, happily stuffed from Easter tamale dinner, in my knickers and sports bra, having a hot flash, and nibbling a few M & Ms (arrived by mail last week, I'm makin' 'em LAST !!!) just fed the goslings their afternoon lettuce, and I *swear* they DOUBLED in size, overnight! and Maggie hatched four adorable ducklings for Easter Day... I met them over at my pond, this morning at dawn... but alas, my camera battery was toast... (it's recharging now, pix later, on Olivia's Wok-Wok thread) now, I'm gonna curl up under the fan, with my latest gift, a book by John Grisham, The Brethren... |
Von, do you get to move closer to me>>?? hehehee
great on the job that would be rewarding type of work...good luck... hey all...hugss and Happy Easter...had bouts of balance issues today, I almost cried in church..as I had to have my son hold the baby most of the mass, as I was feeling like I would fall over at any moment....uggggg anyhow...gotta run...even though balance is still somewhat off..I might try some yoga..some easier yoga....hugsss,sarah |
Renee - They actually made 2 of those!!!! LOL.
Vonn - That's where I saw it. I couldn't remember which is odd because I don't watch a lot of TV. I knew it wasn't 20/20 as that was not the topic this week. Wasn't that such a tear jerking clip. What a wonderful thing. Kay - Thanks for the reminder that that dreaded heat is on its way. See we don't really have spring. We go from 50 to 90 overnight and that's it. (Well, we did have 80's last week). I so hate the summers. Sarah - Don't feel bad. I fell today, hit my head, and missed mass. Dang balance. On the bright side, DS and DD got to bond during mass. That is special. Sending you cyber:hug:'s imbalanced mate. lol |
Hi Everyone! Sorry I've been absent a bit. I've been helping my SIL do his studio over. He rented one just three doors down from mine. I'm getting tired of painting and renovating between just finishing mine and now working on his. It's nearly done now with about three more days worth of painting to get finished.
I got sad news today. The woman I call my adoptive mother passed away this morning. It was her 87th birthday and she died. I knew that she would not last long once she went into the nursing home. She lost her will to go on and just wanted to be with her husband and daughter, who both died some years ago. At least she is now at peace, but I am sad that I didn't make it to Florida in time to see her again before she died. I am flying down in June to accompany my young nephew, who is going to spend the summer with his grandmother ( my sister). How strange is it that she died on her birthday! Guess some things just can't be explained. Carolyn:girl(sad)::Bawling::Sob: |

(((((((((((Carolyn))))))))))) so sorry to hear that! Thursday is the 17 year anniversary of my fathers death...you just never get passed it. But just think she was unhappy and had given up and now she will be in Glry smiling down on you!
And for you.....are you a glutton for punishment or what?! LOL I think you have "studio" fever! Keeping Olivia home from school for one more day..she is coughing her head off now...I go see my attorney on Friday and then my hearing is Tuesday.....Kayo you still got everything crossed? |
Carolyn, I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers heading your way.
Vonn, The job sounds cool, hun. :) Renee, Hope the meds help Olivia. Glad the kids still had fun this Easter despite it. Sarah, sorry to hear about the balance issues. Kay, so jealous that it's warm down there, LOL. I can send you some snow if you want. :D ~~~~~~~~~~ Saw my in-laws yesterday. Not too bad of a visit. My MIL seems to have mellowed with age, which is good. LOL, we did stuff ourselves with ham and potatoes. :D Not hard to do when they cook so much since they're Italian. My hubby over cooks for just the two of us too, LOL. Thank goodness for leftovers! Great invention. :D |
Renee, also crossing fingers for ya over here. Hope things get straightened out for ya
