Thanks, Polar, for that site! I've liked 2 candidates (not ready to divulge yet) but can't decide yet which one I like better. After taking the quiz, I can see why I'm torn - there's only a point difference between the 2 of them. And a 3rd candidate is only a point behind them.
I know everyone's overusing the "change" word, but I'm definitely ready for a change of resident in the White House! I will be glad when the primaries & conventions are behind us & it's narrowed down to 2 candidates. And I hope that we can continue to keep this thread civilized & respectful cause it can be a very interesting and insightful discussion. |

Just want to say I am so glad I am no longer a board moderator on any sites!
My mother has always loved to argue politics and religion and as an adult I have tried to stay away from those subjects when in a group of people. I no longer have to read anything on politics or religion unless I choose to do so! Yeah! And I don't mean to insinuate that this will or did lead to an argument just wanted to say, hallelujah, I don't have to read it.

After the experience some of us had with a political thread in the not so far past, I have decided to only state"no comment!"

ROTFLMAO! oh boy do I remember it! This one seems to be much tamer. I hope it stays this way. I think we can voice our opinions and not attack each other. Am I being too optimistic?? I hope not. I can take the heat anyway, but really don't want to see long rants without substantial evidence to back them up.

Clinton,then Edwards,then Obama
Definitely a Dem but if a republican had to be elected I guess i'd go with McCain first then Romney.....definitely not Huckabee....I lived in Arkansas during his reign!

For me it would be a combination of the major three republican candidates,
McCain, Romney and Giuliani. I think each one has something the other does not. However, you cannot have a threesome! I'm thinking McCain, but DH is for Romney as most of the conservatives I know are. Tootsie

I think a thread like this can stay on positive ground.
- just gets dicey when confrontations or or too strong of negative opinions about others choices comes into play. So if those are avoided we should be fine. Seems to be good so far

“Though it’s sometimes difficult to understand, different folks can and do look at the same set of facts and arrive at completely different conclusions. That’s the essence of politics.”

I like the websites posted by Bearygood. I think it is important to pair candidates to the issues. I believe these sites really help us to know who we really want to support for US President.
I wish the various news channels would report more about the issues than about the latest poll as to who is ahead. I keep wondering who the pollsters have spoken to. Have any of you ever participated in a reputable poll? |

I've been voting for 40 yrs. and never been part of a poll, nor has my husband. I've asked friends too and they say they've never been polled either. We represent, Reps., Dems, and Independents. My feeling is the polls are mostly special interest. What's your take. Tootsie
