mmmmmmmm....left over from 12-25!
Any Hungarian ppl here that make those little yummy cookies at Christmas(What are they called?) You roll out the dough & cut it in 2-3 inch squares, put on a spoonful of filling (usually Solo brand) (or fresh), then pinch together the opposing sides. When you take out of oven, you dust them with powdered sugar. My Hungarian grandma used to make them. When I got married my part Hungarian MIL made them. I have a cookbook also, from a church over in the Hungarian part of town, with the recipe in it. |

Has been making me drool! I'm surprised it's gone on so LOOOONG???? Oh, Yummm. makes me about 5 years old again!
As for the Cookies? My sis's MIL would make them [she, the MIL was Polish.]...w/prune or apricot fillings and sometimes figs...Those were yummy!...I believe they are pretty labor intensive...And, of course, for the life of me, cannot remember the NAME of those goodies! Making them I think is a lost art. I'll see if I can find some recipe resources that are close to what these things had... Golly folks! You are making me HUNGRY! And with a special 'Meyow!' Type hungry. Cheetos just aren't gonna cut it rite about now.. - j |
