A whole new kind of question for you - what automatic drip coffeemaker gets the water and therefore the coffee good and hot - need a new one - which ones do you like and why ??

We have a Cuisinart Grind & Brew that we like. It has a glass carafe. The one we had previously had a thermal carafe & did not keep the coffee as hot.

"They say a good old "Mr. Coffee" gets the job done right. It all has to do with the temp of the water..so "they" say.
I have a Automatic Vienna machine. With the press of a button it grinds the beans from a hopper, adds the water from a container, makes the coffee and then dumps the used grounds into a self contained box that you later clean out. It makes the best coffee I've ever had but will set you back about 600 clams. I apparently take my coffe seriously. When it breaks, I too will be in the market for a replacement. I won't be spending another 600 clams, so I'd go the Mr. Coffee route.

KarenMarie, I don't know what to tell you about the coffee getting hot but being in the market for a new auto-drip myself, I can tell you that I will NOT be buying a Krups! Everyone I've ever owned has some sort of a problem or thing I don't like about it. From my experience so far, I've liked the coffee that comes out of Braun's coffeemakers the best but I'm just starting to think about what I'm going to do.
Let us know how you make out! (Chances are good that you'll probably get around to getting a new one before me! ) |

Several of my friends really like the Bunn one with the instant brew via an always heated pot of water.
Myself, for every day use, I shoot the wad once a year and buy a new $10.00 Sunbeam 12-cupper. My coffee maker always looks clean and never gets wimpy on me. Donate the old one, take the write off and everyone wins. I'm also a lover of the French press when I have the patience to keep it cleaned.

We love the Bunn. It goes about $100. Only drawback is you cannot program it - can't set it up the night before and have your coffee ready in the am. No auto shut off either. Very basic.
But the water is constantly heating and it takes 2 minutes to brew a pot. We fill the filter and the carafe the night before, and just pour the water in the am. Same diff. Biggest plus to the thing is this one is over 12 yrs old. Clean it once a month (I'm lying, like we do that - once every few months when we remember because it slows down is more like it, lol) and it runs like a charm. What other maker lasts that long? And we're fiends - 2-3 pots a day.

Thank you for your comments - we're very serious about our coffee - I've gone through Starbuck's, Krups, Braun and the last one was a Cuisinart programable - it did okay for three years - the life of the warranty - son has one and a couple of my friends - their coffee is HOT and their machines are just as old - mine never was that hot - maybe it was just a lemon - and I should try another - and thanks for the comment about the thermal carafe - I was thinking that maybe that would get it hotter - no dice !!

I have a Cuisinart. I love it. It has no warmer but remains hot in
a stainless insulated carafe until 6 pm. and it still tastes good. Its a little pricey but I really love it as you can put the pot on the breakfast table and it stays so hot. My Dunkin Donuts Hazelnut is delish when made in my coffee pot. Good luck, Soxmom |

I don`t know if I have ever had a Mr.Coffee last a year, I now avoid the brand. Two in the kitchen used daily, a Presto and Delonghi, but only for like 6 months now, don`t know how long they will last, but not expensive.
LOL his and hers coffee pots, we operate on different time schedules.
