Default New washer & dryer

My new washer & dryer were delivered this morning. Thanks for all your recommendations - they really helped a lot! I ended up getting Front Loading Sears Kenmore Elite (made by Whirlpool). I didn't get the steam functions - I figured since I've never had it, I won't miss it, and it did save $$$. But I did get the pedestals and chose "champagne" as the color.

They look awesome in my laundry room. I'm doing the first load now, and I can't believe how quiet it is! I didn't have to close the laundry room door & I've gone in there a few times just to check to see if was working.

Since I'm in a powerchair full time, having the front loaders is really going to help a lot. I don't usually get so excited about new appliances, but I think I'm in love with these !

My laundry is on the way. This means you'll have more time to play with your new machines!!

I still love doing laundry and I bought mine a few months ago! I am amazed at how fast I get my laundry done since they hold so much more. Did you get the 4.0 cubic foot washer? I have a 3.8 cf washer and 7.1 cf dryer. They are LG and I too didn't get the steam function to save money.

Yay you Becky. Just remember to leave the door open on the washer
between washings. It really helps.

Bring it on over - I'll make coffee. I'm out of laundry already - guess I'll read the manuals now!

I think I will love doing laundry again. It was getting soooo hard for me to get the clothes out of the washer before. Hmmmm, I wonder if I can get reimbursed by our insurance . I got the 4.0 cubic foot washer & 7 cf dryer. I just took my jeans and cords out of the dryer, and they came out wrinkle free - yippee, no ironing!! The dryer also has a drying rack that you can lay sweaters on & a setting so it dries either on low heat, or air only, and doesn't tumble. I just used that for a couple of sweaters.

I just love new technology !

Do you just leave it open until it's dry? I'm afraid if I leave it open for long, my very mischievous kitty will start sleeping in it!

Doing the laundry is ok, but I really need a visit from the folding fairy! That and putting it away seems useless to me since I'm just going to wear it again. Glad you like your new toy! Funny that an appliance can make us so happy!

Yep, I certainly wasn't as excited when we replaced our hot water heater or dishwasher. But this is much more than replacing - and it makes me want to do laundry again. Is that sad or what? Glad you all understand!

Yes until you are sure its dry. If you have it closed when wet it can
give clothes a musty smell. I also periodically run an empty load
with vinegar or bleach. Also dont leave clothes sitting overnight in the
washer, they start to stink quickly. I try to dry them right away.

But all in all, I love mine.
