Well, I just got into my hotmail account but I'm confused. Sometimes a window pops up indicating it's Windows Live Mail.
I have no idea what this is. |
Maybe MSN is having probs again...
I still can't get in... I don't know what the "Live" thingy is you are getting??? I NEED MY EMAIL.... sorry just me whining... Abbie:( |

Hi Jo:
I have Outlook Express (which is my default mail thingee). I used to have a problem doing the attachments. I also have used Hotmail for YEARS. Never had a problem. I signed up for something called Windows Passport (I have no idea what this is). I very rarely use my hotmail account. Only when I can't get mail to go to my Outlook express thingee, I tell people "try the hotmail email address". Well, you will never believe what has been happening. I go to my Outlook Express and I see stuff with attachments. (Remember some time ago, I couldn't open up anything if my life depended on it??). Well, things have changed AND I DON'T KNOW WHY. If I get an email with an attachment, I click on the email, then I go to the paper clip (on the subject line). Sometimes I have to do this up to 5 times. But then MAGICALLY, a little message thingee pops up and it says 'WINDOWS LIVE MAIL". ??????? And my attachment opens up. I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANY OF THIS. Is the live mail opening up the attachment??? And if so, WHY?? Thanks, |
I have been able to get in to my hotmail today. So far it seems to be working OK. Still having trouble with attachments though.

Maybe it did some sort of upgrade or repair ??
I don't use it- but I'm guessing the Live Mail thing is doing something to open the attachments for you:) yeah... |
They did do an upgrade. I've not had any problems. The upgrade was with MSN Instant messenger. You can go to their homepage, I believe Jo provided the link, and read about the upgrade and the changes that were made.
If you are using Firefox as your browser or a browser other than Internet Exploxer, that could be the problem. Just my guess. Like I said, I've had no problems whatsover other than the 45 minutes or so down time while they were down nationwide. Maybe you should try cleaning out your cache or temporary internet files. That might help. If you are using Windows XP, use the tools pull down menu, go to Internet Options, then delete history, then delete temporary internet files. ;) |
