Default Well, I thought I lost it ...

I looked under the sofa, under the chairs, under the recliner, nope it wasn't there. I cleaned really well inbetween, and around, and nope I didn't find it. I looked in the closets, cleaned them out and replaced it all neatly, and still I thought I couldn't find it.

I asked my pets, did you chew it up or take it outside, did you bury it like an ole bone? Where is it? What did you do? They looked at me with loving eyes and just nudged my toes.

I looked outside under the swing and all over the porch, I looked in the grill and under rocks..nope it wasn't there. I looked in the vehicles, both of them, under the seats, in the back, and all the places something can hide...nope it wasn't there.

I began to decide, it was just gone, like the beautiful bracelet and the favorite ring, or the favorite dress I'd out grown. I sat and thought about where it could be, but could not think of where it would have gone. I've checked the kitchen, the laundry room and laundry, every nook, every cranny and each little space...nope, nothing.

I had to stop, I had a visitor, but still I wondered where it could have gone, distracted by thinking I was barely listening to all the conversations as this family member came, then this kid with his friend, and more family. I sat thinking where can be, how could something so precious to me be gone. I noticed it missing for sometime, just didn't have the energy or care to look until now...I miss having it here, so where can it be!?

Then without warning I found it!!! It was in the laughter of family and friends, I found my humor when I heard them laughing at the prankster protege I had been grooming for almost six years. He pulled his prank with the master's skill, he pulled it off with grace and a serious face, not a smile nor twitch did he show as he reeled them in like a hooked fish.

I laughed, I hooted, I hollered out loud...I found what I had so searched for...my humor was there...saving itself for the energy I would need for such a laugh. The greatest gift is my skill will not be lost cause the grandson who has watched and listened to his Nani will pull those pranks on the unsuspecting person...

If you can't find your humor, be not dismayed, it is saving the energy for when it will be really needed...to laugh, to hoot, to holler outloud!!

Well it sounds like you were well rewarded for your efforts! Now you get to sit back and reap more rewards from the antics you taught the little fell'r
