"Did you know my nickname is "Casey?" I was supposed to be named Cassandra, but my mom chose Kathy at the last minute. I was named after Cathy from the movie Wuthering Heights - but with a K to honor my aunt. My sister preferred Cassandra, so to this day she and my childhood friends still call me Casey."
Hi Kathy: I think Cassandra is a gorgeous name. If I had been named Cassandra, I would have made EVERYBODY calle me Cassandra. It sounds sort of surreal, like one should be draped in ribbons. I have no idea why this name makes me think of ribbons. Oh, years ago, when I first found out I was pregnant, Alan and I talked about names for girls. Guess what I would have called my daughter (if I did indeed have a girl). I would have named her Samantha Roselle. Isn't that a pretty name? My husband's mom was named Sarah. She was deceased long before I met my husband. So you take the first initial and you name the child. I also wanted to give a middle name. My mom's name was Rosale (but everybody called her Cissy, and I have no idea why). So combine S (for Sarah), and Roselle (from Rosalie). and you get Samatha Roselle. I had never heard of that name but it sounded very unique. Probably would have called her Sammy for the rest of her life. lol
