Wink gas

noooooo...i haven't been adding beans to the brownies!

so what are the gas prices where you are? $2.52 here yesterday. some of the major player stations were still $2.60+.

have you changed your driving habits since the price went up? drive less?

hubby and i are pretty lucky. our business is less than 3 miles from home. he drives the suburban and i drive a little itty bitty mazda. makes sense huh? him alone...and me wif da monkeys.

i get great gas milage, but i still have cut way back. kinda stack up errands. lil'monkey walks to the club after school ( about a block...you can see the club from her school) and i pick her up there. on the way home we go to the bank drive thru and the post office. i stock up on groceries and don't have extra trips to the store. it helps that hubby can walk next door to a dollar general that even has cold foods and dairy products.

what about these hybrid cars? i haven't checked them out much...but i am curious.

Default Gas

Gas is around $2.69 here now. No, we have not changed our driving habits. We just go on as usual. Fortunately, our work is only two miles away.

As far as hybrid cars, I'll stick with my 12 year old vehicle. It would cost more than it's worth to buy something newer just to save on gas mileage. Anyhoo, that's what I think for what it's worth

my mazda is 12 yrs old too kitt. musta been a good year. i love my car! the only problem i have is that lil'monkey who is also 12...is going on 5'9" and we have to bend her in thirds to get her in the back seat! hehehe....so she rides in the front. grandmonkey who will be 5 next month has his car seat in the back. he has become awful good at keeping his feet pressed into my lower back. i forgot to mention...hubby won't even try to get in my car. lol.

the time will come pretty soon for me to pass along martin the mazda. bet 17 yr old bubba monkey wouldn't mind.

You must've gotten the Mazda that was missing from the lot when I got mine. I had one... and its engine caught on fire . I pulled into a "fire lane" and was ticketed. Uhhh, car on fire + fire lane = thinking that's safer than continuing to drive.

I fought the ticket, though people aren't supposed to be able to do so by mail in my area, if within a 50 mile radius. I think the Judge understood, though: I did a letter and included the paperwork on the sale of the car along with info. that proved I bought a new one. Ticket went poooooooooof!

Our gasoline just this week dropped below $3.00 a gallon here in southwest suburban Chicagoland. I was semi-ecstatic earlier this week when I filled up my mini-truck (Ford Ranger 4 cylinder, stick shift) for $2.93.9 per gallon.... This evening, I saw 87 unleaded at the grocery store gas station for the amazing low price of $2.81.9 per gallon!

I drive about 100 miles daily round-trip to school... so fuel mileage is of paramount importance to me... and my little pickemup has been delivering upwards of 30 miles to the gallon. Suits me...
