My landlord owns my home and his own home right next door to us. He bought my home so he could have the driveway.
He is from Italy, and in my backyard (actually the whole two backyards), guess what is growing from vines during the summer?? Beautiful grapes. And in the back, there are pots and pots of tomatoes, and other great stuff. And they grow these humongous 6 foot long squash things. Every summer, he brings me these long things. I say "bring em on, this is what I live on". Can't wait until the warm weather stays and he starts planting again. He used to give me the squash flowers (over here, italian love to dip the squash flowers in batter and fry them). I used to do that (when I used to eat like a normal person, but I don't fry and dont' use batter, so no more squash flowers for me. One time, he gave me around 15 of them (flowers) and I jumped out of my skin, they had all these bees and bugs in them. He laughed his head off and I started yelling and made him go and get the faucet outside and go and wash them. He doesn't quite get the fact that I don't like bugs. I do not understand how people can sit in the backyard till 1 a.m. with all the ants on the floor. I will never understand that. Ants exist, I see them, so why on earth would I sit in a chair when that chair is sitting on the ants?? Ants crawl up chairs. You go in your house, and you bring in the ants. But there they are all summer, sitting in the backyard. Speaking italian. I go back once in a while but I make sure when I sit, that there's no ants. We don't have infestations or anything like that. But ants are ants, and I do not like bugs.
