Default For us "middle aged" folks.

Folks of a certain age might like this trip through the '60s.

http://cruzintheavenue.com/TakeMeBackToTheSixties.htm

I urge you to watch it all the way through to fully appreciate it.

Thanks for that Oldsteve. It sure brought back a lot of nice memories for this old chick!

I've also taken the liberty of posting the link onto some of my old hippie friends as I'm certian they'll enjoy it too. Thank you.

Even though I was born in 1960 this brought back so many good memories for me. My sisters were 10 and 16 when I was born so I remember most of the music from that era. My Mom drove a Corvaire that she named Lizzie!! Those were definitely the "good old days" for me!! Thanks for the reminder!!

Thanks OldSteve, I was 5 when the 60's arrived, but had young teen siblings.
In early 70s, friend had a Courvair named Ralph. He took us many places.

College boyfriend had family's old push-button Courvair.

Not only were times simpiler, I was much younger. I've turned into my mother!!!!! Ordered my goth-like DD (16) a pretty dress and flat sandals. Can't stand that black thing she wears for dress-up. And I know better!!!

I too was young. Born in 1958. But my brothers 'turned me on' to groovy music. My brothers had a band in the basement & I would sit on the steps & listen. They played "House of the Rising Sun" (there is a house in new orlens they call the rising sun) & others. Many musicians are/were far out. My favorite is Eric Clapton & his (Derick & the Dominoes) "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs" (But that came out in 1970). Duanne Allman played on that one (He died in 1971). My sis & I had a picture of Greg Allman on our wall. (These ppl started in the 60's. Clapton was in other bands first) I would hurry & finish supper so I could sit infront of the TV watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. The Doors were on once cuz though Ed said not to, they sang "higher" (girl we couldn't get much higher) or some prodocative word.
(You know the guys that play like these, I listen to them) The Rolling Stones were not as cute as the Beatles & Paul, most said (lol).
('Clapton is God') I still see writen on walls (I hear he hates that).

For those a tad older than the sixties generation, did anyone notice Alffe's post on another thread where we'd both just commented on how good Oldsteve's post was?

I recall being subjected to this whole scene on the evening news. It was horrific. Not a good memory.
