I also think: The landlady/landlord better have followed your state's eviction laws. She/Her attorney has a burden to prove that you received notice (Feb., they say) because there is a stipulated time-frame that is required before forced eviction can happen.

I'm not saying you don't owe her anything or that you are trying to worm your way out of anything.

Time, however, may also open more options for you.

Bobbi's right.....I believe they have to send those letters certified so they get a signed receipt.

Not trying to suggest something that might make your landlady less apt to work with you - but they have to follow the rules in order to evict (sorry...not sure what they are but I know there are some in every state).

I found this site.....looks like it might have some good info.

Hey Vonn I'm sorry that you have to deal with all of this. Sometimes when it rains it pours.

I'm sure in the end, everything will work itself out. I'm thinking of you.http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...andprayers.gif

Von, I don't know if it's up in your area, but try dialing 211 to see if there is any emergency shelter assistance available to you. They will also have resources to assist you with your bills and moving matters. The 211 is a basic assistance line for people in situations like yours. I hope you'll work it all out soon.:)

Cindy, a quick question: What is the 211 line? or where does it lead, i.e., an agency that's nationwide or for a specific area?

It's an ongoing initiative begun by United Way, nation-wide, check it out!

thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers ... I'm okay ... in fact, I figured that getting out of here wasn't coming anytime too soon!

all things will work out ... I'm not stressing anymore ... talked with my doctor - she's upset with SSDI because she is concerned about my downward MS progression ... and rather have me not return to work ...

I just have to find a place to 'GO' that will take me in - will have to explain my physical setbacks ...

actually, I've been packing these last few weeks ... so, all I need is a truck and a place to go ..

good news .. just got an email from a friend that will help me out with a grand .. that will pay for the rent/deposits ... this will happen!!

and I'm donating my trailer (aluminum) to the American Legion that I'm a member of - and I can move out, they can come and disemble it and cash in the metal .. and take the wood from the framing ... and level the lot!

see - it is all coming together!! will keep you posted ... and I have 2 weeks of school to finish up before the break ...

I think your story of survival teaches us all a lesson.

Look what you are going through and you still have time to reach out to us on these forums.

God bless you my dear!!

All the best. You are most definitely in my prayers when I go to bed tonight.

Melody

Vonn, glad to hear things will work out. But please do call that 211 number to see if there are any options for you. This is what tax money and donations work for, to help those who really need the help. Good luck in all that happens. Are you still planning to move by your friends?

Hey Girl .... continuing to re-read the book you sent ... I'll be going down to Beaver Dam (about 40 minutes north of Mad-town) ... how far are you from there??

I'll be okay .. I believe that God doesn't give us anything more than we can handle ... so, right now - they are only His footprints in the sand right now ... I have a real peace about leaving ...
