I am so sad about Tim Russert's death. I have been watching MSNBC this afternoon.

I always looked forward to his interviews because he was the only one who wasn't obvious about his political position.

I watched him interview Steve Martin a few months ago and it was one of the best I have ever seen. He could interview movie stars as easily as politicians.

May he rest in peace.

I'm going to miss him. You could always count on an enlightening and fair interview and coverage from him. From what they're writing in the press, he was just an all-around great man.

I'm shocked and saddened. He was who I looked for to try to get to the truth. A great guy.

I am really sad about this.

It ached me when I heard his wife and son were still in Italy where he had been with them celebrating his son's graduation from Boston college Apparently he had returned ahead of them. I cannot begin to imagine their devastation and sorrow, as well as that of his elderly dad "Big Russ"

I pray God's comfort for his family and colleagues.

I have been watching the coverage all afternoon and into the evening.

They just mentioned that he was recently saddened by the fact that 10 days ago he had to put his dad Big Russ into an assisted living home.

He sounds like he was an amazing human being.

I too, am very saddened about his passing.

He gave me a reason to get up on Sunday mornings to watch "Meet the Press".
I will miss his insight and reporting during the coming presidential election. I have never been a political junkie, but I always enjoyed his reporting on political issues.

R.I.P. Mr. Russert.

Mornings on MSNBC won't be the same. He was sometimes a "guest" on "Morning Joe," which I watch nearly every day. Listening to his friends/colleagues... I did learn that he just loved Yogi Berra, and stammered like a kid when he had Yogi on "Meet the Press."

Also, what resonates is that if those who appeared on "Meet the Press" picked up bias, then, they weren't on-air with T. Russert.

He sure did love his family!

Very sad he died - and that he put work before health (as do so many). He had only recently learned that he had an asymptomatic condition and was beginning to work on that - to change things.

Last night I was in tears watching just a few minutes of coverage on Tim Russert. I adored that man. And he was so excited about the political arena this year.

My Sunday morning will never be the same without him in Meet the Press.

We'll miss you Tim Russert. Until we meet again.

I am right there with you all. I was so shocked when I heard the news. So, so sad. I thought he was simply amazing and in hearing the stories after his death, am not surprised that he touched the lives of so many in such a deep, personal way. So many of the memorials have been so touching. I had tears in my eyes non-stop as I watched this morning's news programs. Tom Brokaw hosted "Meet the Press" and couldn't get through the show without breaking down. My heart goes out to his wife, son and "Big Russ".

A few times over the last 2 days I heard this wonderful quote that Tim used to say:

“The best exercise for the human heart is to bend down and pick someone else up.”

R.I.P. Tim Russert -- he will be sorely missed by so many.
